If you’re looking to enjoy a real example of a Manchester community space, then Takk is the place to be. This dog-friendly cafe in Manchester is full of exciting, creative individuals who come together over a shared love of good coffee and cake.

The community space is all about creating a welcoming space to work, meet, talk and dream up big ideas, and the good news is they don’t want to exclude dogs from the fun. Quite the opposite in fact! This Icelandic inspired coffee house is one of the most popular hangouts for trendy young folk and their pups. With an ethos all about shared space and warm vibes, it makes sense that they cater to the furrier amongst us too.

These guys will always try to accommodate your doggy needs and provide water and snacks for pets when possible. Meanwhile, the humans in the group will be able to indulge in great coffee, tea, light continental dining and freshly baked cakes.

Address & Map: 19 Lever Street, M1 1BY

19 Cafe Bar is a gorgeous little Brooklyn-style cafe that allows dogs. Nestled in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, it’s got delicious brunches, pancake stacks, open bagels, homemade brownies, and a drinks menu that includes everything from coffee made with locally-roasted beans to lovingly-crafted cocktails.

Although this delightful coffee shop caters to the canine-kind every day, they also have special events to really bring in the doggy punters. They host ‘Doggy Date Nights’ for single dog lovers who are looking to meet fellow dog parents and introduce their dogs too! We love this sociable, dog-friendly idea that means people can get out and about with their dog. They pull out all the stops, with unlimited hot drinks, cake, and a glass of prosecco for the humans (and not forgetting the dog party bags for those with fur!) Head to their website to book you and your dog a spot!

5. North Tea Power

Address & Map: 36 Tib Street, M4 1LA

Delicious, fresh food meets amazing coffee and company at this Northern Quarter institution. You’ll find a hub of culture and community, as well as many fellow dog owners chilling out and soaking up the Manchester coffee scene with their dogs.

There’s no better dog-friendly cafe in Manchester if you’re a real coffee snob. If you ask many of the locals, they’ll tell you that North Tea Power serves the best coffee in Manchester as well as some pretty good tea too. Don’t go thinking that coffee is their only speciality though, if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast they definitely don’t disappoint. Think fancy but not pretentious brunches with a Mancunian edge. We love the look of the Manc Classic avo on toast that they recently featured on their instagram.

Plus, not only are good boys and girls welcome inside, the little ones can curl up on the bench next to you. Complete with an outdoor area that comfortably houses some of the bigger boned, as well as the more excitable, there’s something for every dog here. It makes a great stop off point when you’re flagging and in need a caffeine hit.

Where do we start with this all American eatery? With a delicious American menu that features popular dishes like pancakes, waffles and amazing thick-shakes, you and your pup will be well looked after from the minute you step into this dog-friendly cafe.

Dogs are allowed everywhere that the humans can go – including on the comfy booth seating. It’s only fair that they get to be fully involved, right?! Although with an array of chocolatey plates and dairy delights, you’ll need to make sure your pup’s nose doesn’t get too close to your breakfast plate! On top of the delicious food on offer, they are super friendly towards four-legged friends and will offer water and cuddles as part of the service. Manchester’s answer to an American diner is well worth a visit the next time you’re in town!
