Did you know that some of our favourite dog breeds are also the stubbornest? These 20 breeds are known for being some of the cutest, sweetest, and funniest friends to have around—with a major independent streak we love. They need a little extra exercise and company when you’re away, is all!

Vote which breeds in your experience are the most stubborn and compare your thoughts to the pros. We included Dr Stanley Coren’s Intelligence of Dogs rankings for the sake of science. The breeds are ranked from brightest (#1 border collie) to least trainable (#79 Afghan hound).
