Over: I have taken care of friends dogs on multiple occasions, with them staying over night. I also enjoy walking a dog for as long as they need. I also have experience with seniour dog care. I currently work 2 times a week from home and have weekends free, so I can keep your pet company full time during those 4 days. I have a protected balcony and access to 3 parks nearby my home, so I am happy to take your pet on a walk for as long as needed. To avoid hurting the dog, I have a preference to carrying them upstairs.

 I am Basma, a 27-year-old professional living and working in the Netherlands. I moved to the Netherlands back in 2019 for my master studies at Leiden University, and started working since 2021 upon graduation. My journey from the bustling streets of Shanghai to the serene parks of Den Haag to the charming canals of Amsterdam has been an exciting and amazing adventure. 

 My motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my deep love for dogs and my commitment to their well-being, and the fact that I cannot have my own doggy in the near future :-(((((. I genuinely desire to ensure that pets receive the best care and love that they deserve, even when their owners are away for holidays/busy with work. I always try my best to understand and empathize with the anxiety pet owners feel when they have to leave their furry family members behind, and I strive to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for every dog I care for. Luckily my work is super flexible and I can work from home at any time if I want, meaning I can be with dogs 24/7 if needed.

 In addition to the joy of spending time with animals, being a pet sitter allows me to meet wonderful pet owners and become a trusted part of their lives. It's a rewarding experience that combines my love for dogs with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the community especially now I'm trying to be more extroverted.
 Last but not the least, I always respect different personalities different dogs have, so please share as much information as possible about your (and my upcoming) friend when reaching out.

 Environment & Services
 I live in a quiet and comfortable apartment by myself near Den Haag Centraal Station, nearby which there is a gaint park where I can always see a lot of people walking their dogs. As a bonus, there is also a deer park. I prefer to walk our fluffy friends there in the park, or somewhere nearby if he/she has a 'go-to' place :-)  

Good to know 
- I can go for walks 1-3 times per day (morning & afternoon), at least 30 minutes each time, or longer if needed.  
- For day care & one-night boarding (1 dog only): I will be with the dog the whole day; For multiple-night boarding (1 dog only), I can be with the dog all the time except when I need to do grocery shopping (max. 1 hour). (My job doesn't require me to work from the office, so I can be with the dog as much as needed) 
- Dogs can stay in every corner of my apartment except my bed! 
 - Home visits take approx. 30 mins (can be longer if needed upon consultation), and I'm also willing to water plants :-)

Daardoor moest ik afscheid nemen van mijn eigen teckel, die nu nog steeds bij mijn familie woont. Sindsdien mis ik het gezelschap van een hond om me heen: samen wandelen, spelen en gewoon een trouwe viervoeter in huis hebben. Juist daarom vind ik het zo fijn om op honden en katten op te passen. Ik geef iedere hond/kat de aandacht, rust en zorg die hij of zij nodig heeft en behandel hem alsof hij/zij van mijzelf is. Ik bied hondenuitlaatservice, dagopvang, logeren bij mij thuis én oppas aan huis, zodat u altijd een optie kunt kiezen die het beste bij u en uw huisdier past. Ik woon in een rustige buurt in Hellevoetsluis, omringd door veel groen en fijne wandelgebieden. Hierdoor kunnen honden genieten van ontspannen en veilige wandelingen. Of het nu om een hond of kat gaat, ik zorg ervoor dat ieder huisdier zich veilig, comfortabel en geliefd voelt, zodat u met een gerust hart van huis kunt. De veiligheid en het welzijn van uw huisdier staan bij mij altijd voorop. Voor iedere reservering bespreek ik graag de routine, behoeften en eventuele bijzonderheden, zodat ik mijn zorg volledig kan afstemmen op uw huisdier. Of de opvang nu bij mij thuis of bij u thuis is, ik zorg voor een rustige, veilige en liefdevolle omgeving. Rondom mijn huis zijn er bovendien veel groene wandelroutes waar honden heerlijk kunnen wandelen.

I usually start my morning with a walk, and I’m happy to take a dog with me for a longer walk if they enjoy it. During the day, I spend a lot of time at home, so pets wouldn’t be left alone for long periods. I enjoy playing with them, giving them attention and making sure they feel comfortable and safe. I’m also very happy to look after cats. I understand that every pet has a different personality and routine, so I always try to follow the owner’s instructions and give each animal the care and attention they are used to. I’m flexible with my time and can adapt to different routines, whether a pet needs walks, company, playtime or simply someone around while their owners are away. Pets are welcome throughout my home and are free to move around and feel comfortable. I don’t have a garden, but I do have a balcony. They can relax wherever they like, and I also have a cozy little corner for them to sleep and rest. Of course, they can also find their own favorite spot in the house. 😊

Over: I have 2 dogs of my own and years of hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Your dog will be coming into a calm, dog-savvy home run by people who genuinely love this - not somewhere treating it as a side hustle. I offer boarding at my place, house sitting at yours, and dog walks in and around Hilversum and the Gooi. I keep numbers small on purpose so that your dog gets real attention, a proper routine, and someone who actually notices if something feels off. I use an intake form with every booking so I know your dog's routine, quirks, health needs, and what they're like with other dogs before anything is confirmed. No surprises for either of us. I am additionally comfortable with senior dogs who need calm over chaos and dogs with specific routines or sensitivities. I ask for: honest answers on the intake form and a quick meet-and-greet before boarding or sitting bookings. Pet care isn't something I fit around a busy schedule, it is the priority when I have a booking. I work from home, which means dogs in my care aren't left alone for long stretches during the day. Walks, feeding, rest, and outdoor time follow your dog's natural routine as closely as possible, not mine. I keep bookings small so I'm never stretched across too many dogs at once. My home is calm, dog-proofed, and already shared with 2 dogs of my own, so incoming dogs arrive into a settled environment. Before any boarding or sitting booking I use a detailed intake form covering health, behavior, feeding, and emergency contacts, plus a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good fit. I use a signed agreement with every client. If something feels off with a dog during a stay such as appetite, energy, behavior, I notice and I communicate that. Owners hear from me with updates; they don't have to chase me for them.

Ik neem de tijd om hun karakter en behoeften te leren kennen, zodat ze zich veilig en op hun gemak voelen. Ik heb oog voor detail en houd me zorgvuldig aan de dagelijkse routine van je huisdier, zoals wandelingen, voeding, medicatie en speeltijd. Ook heb ik geduld met jonge huisdieren en kan ik helpen met het aanleren van basisgewoonten, zoals zindelijkheid en rustig meelopen aan de lijn. Daarnaast geef ik oudere huisdieren de extra aandacht, rust en zorg die zij nodig hebben. Over: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a very pet-loving family where we always had at least three dogs, sometimes four, alongside rabbits, fish, and other pets. Over the years I’ve lived with and cared for a wide variety of different breeds, including Bernese Mountain Dogs, Newfoundlands, a Cocker Spaniel mix, a Maltese Poodle, and a Boerboel. Having had both giant breeds and smaller dogs as pets has really taught me how different every dog is and how important it is to adapt to their individual personality, energy level, and needs. I regularly took our three Bernese Mountain Dogs on hikes in the mountains and on adventures to forests and lakes, while our smaller dogs much preferred a relaxing walk on the beach or park. I now work from home full-time, with no pets currently, and live just a short walk from Vondelpark, which means I have the flexibility to give plenty of attention, walks and playtime throughout the day. I live in a calm, pet-friendly apartment with a secure balcony and easy access to Vondelpark.
