Over: I've been caring for cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we had three family dogs and a cat, and by the time I was 21, my family had taken in seven stray dogs. Living with them was one of the happiest periods of my life. I miss them dearly and would love the opportunity to spend time with and care for pets here in Amsterdam as well. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. Over: Saying I’m good with dogs would be an understatement. I’ve had dogs all my life and the only reason I don’t have one myself right now is because I’m studying medicine and I don’t have the time. I’ve worked for a dog walking company for about a year which I absolutely adored, but also couldn’t keep doing due to my studies. I’ve trained my Old German Shepherd dog (who lives with my parents) through a trainer and learned how to train dogs quite well. Through the dog walking company I also got to be a dog sitter multiple times, for multiple days at a time.
