I have looked after various dogs belonging to friends I've looked after a few times, though. If you have a dog with behavioral issues, its probably not a good fit. I also prefer to only do full-day overnight stays with your dog after I've taken him out for a walk once and when we both know we click! :) On top of this i don't have my own bench, so that would be something which you should bring with you in case of a sleepover. Over: Ik ben een echte dierenliefhebber! Helaas kan ik momenteel zelf niet adopteren omdat ik te veel reis. Daarom is mijn woning minder geschikt voor honden die erg waaks zijn of snel aanslaan bij geluiden. Ik heb een tijd op een ranch in Duitsland gewoond waar we twee Australian Shepherds en een Border Collie hadden. De Aussies heb ik grotendeels vanaf pup opgevoed en met onze Border Collie, die een lastig verleden had, ben ik ook meerdere keren naar de hondenschool geweest. Daardoor heb ik geleerd goed om te gaan met verschillende karakters en gedragingen. Daarnaast heb ik vaak opgepast op de Jack Russell van een vriendin tijdens vakanties en andere momenten. Ik hou van lange wandelingen, avontuur en actief bezig zijn met honden — vroeger nam ik ze zelfs regelmatig mee tijdens het paardrijden 😊 Ik ben geduldig, rustig en speels, maar durf ook duidelijk en consequent te zijn wanneer dat nodig is. Medicatie geven is geen probleem en ik sta open voor alle soorten honden. Ik geloof niet echt in “slechte rassen”, iedere hond is anders en verdient een eerlijke kans en liefdevolle begeleiding. Verder heb ik een auto, dus uitstapjes of ophalen is vaak mogelijk. En ja… als een hond graag bij je op bed kruipt voor extra knuffels, dan vind ik dat helemaal gezellig 🐾 Momenteel heb ik nog geen vaste baan, waardoor ik veel vrije tijd en flexibiliteit heb. Daardoor kan ik huisdieren veel aandacht geven, wandelingen plannen en mijn dagelijkse routine aanpassen aan hun behoeften Ik zorg voor een rustige, veilige en vertrouwde omgeving voor ieder huisdier en heb een omheind tuintje. Over: Ik woon vlakbij het Rembrandtpark in Amsterdam en elke dag loop ik door een waar hondenparadijs. Helaas is mijn appartement net te klein om een hond in te houden, en is Rover daarom een perfecte tussen oplossing! Mijn liefde om naar buiten de natuur in te gaan en de fantastische plekken hier in de buurt voor honden zijn denk ik de gouden combinatie voor een leuke logeerpartij. Het Vondelpark is namelijk ook nog geen 10 minuten lopen. Ik heb zelf veel opgepast op honden van vrienden en vroeger thuis ook honden gehad. Over: I've been surrounded by cats and dogs since I was a small child, along with chickens and ducks, so I truly understand how to read and care for different animals' needs. I have my own cat whom I completely adore and take care of every day, and I've also looked after many dogs over the years. Feeding, walking, and playing with them for neighbors, friends, and family. For example, I used to regularly walk and take care of my neighbor's two Maltipoos, and I genuinely miss that daily routine with them since she moved to another city. I'm separately studying animal psychology to better understand both cats' and dogs' behavior, which helps me provide calm, attentive, and knowledgeable care for any pet I look after. I currently have a flexible schedule, which means I'm available to care for pets throughout the entire day including feeding, walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company. Since I'm not tied to fixed working hours, I can easily adapt to whatever routine works best for your pet, whether that's mornings, afternoons, or evenings. I live in a two-room apartment with a balcony, and I can only host cats there, since I have my own cat who doesn't get along well with dogs. For dogs, I prefer to come to the owner's home instead. From my experience, some animals get quite anxious when their environment suddenly changes and they're surrounded by unfamiliar people, so staying in their own familiar space is often the better and calmer option for them.

I am definitely not someone who is busy working all day and only quickly takes the dog out in between tasks — caring for the dog is genuinely my main priority. Because of this, I can keep a close eye on both the dog and the home, and owners can trust that everything will be calm, safe, and well taken care of. What I am currently in between jobs and taking the time to explore what I want to do long-term. One thing that is very clear to me is that I want my future to involve dogs in some way, whether that becomes dog training, behavioral guidance, or something similar. I am still figuring out exactly how I want to shape that path, but I think it is great that I can already gain valuable hands-on experience by caring for and spending time with different dogs through dog sitting and walking. At the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am mainly available during weekdays from late morning until the end of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Rover does not offer an exact option for this, but in practice I am generally available between 10 AM and 5 PM to look after your dog at home or take your dog out for walks. Since I personally love walking as well, owners can expect me to take dogs on long, enjoyable walks with plenty of attention and care. I am also exploring the possibility of starting a part-time remote job later this summer for around 16 hours per week. The type of work I am looking at would be fully home-based, flexible, and low-pressure, without meetings or appointments that would require me to leave the house. Because of that, I would still have more than enough time, attention, and flexibility to properly care for dogs throughout the day. The dog’s wellbeing, attention, and routine would always remain my main priority while I am looking after them. Weekends can be a bit more difficult for me, although I may still be available depending on the situation, so you are always welcome to send me a message to check availability I currently live in an apartment complex and do not have a private garden, which means fulltime dog boarding at my home can be a bit more limited depending on the dog and the situation. However, if your dog only needs to stay somewhere for a few hours for example, to bridge part of the day rather than staying an entire day or overnight that is absolutely possible at my place. My apartment is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a dog for shorter periods of time. I already do this regularly with one of my parents’ dogs to help them out from time to time, so I am experienced in having dogs stay with me in a calm and comfortable environment. Of course, this is always coordinated properly, which means that if I am caring for your dog, there will not unexpectedly be another dog present unless discussed beforehand. I also genuinely enjoy being outdoors and spending active, quality time with dogs. With my own family dogs, I love doing simple things like playing with a tennis ball or a toy, practicing little tricks, going for walks, relaxing outside together, cuddling, and giving them attention. For me, it is really the small moments and connection with a dog that make it enjoyable, and spending time with dogs genuinely gives me a lot of energy and happiness. One important thing to mention is that Rover sometimes requires me to select fixed availability options that do not fully reflect how flexible I actually am. Because of that, it is possible that I may not always appear in certain search results. In reality, my availability is often much more flexible and depends a bit on the specific day and situation. If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.

Overnachtingen of een hele dag met uw hond doe ik liever ook pas nadat ik hem een keer heb uitgelaten en als we beide weten dat het tussen ons klikt!:) Daarnaast heb ik geen bench dus die zou je zelf moeten brengen bij een overnachting. Ik hoor graag van je als je me toevertrouwd met je trouwe viervoeter!:) ----- I am Niels and I just like dogs ;) I do this as a side job for fun. I enjoy walking, skateboarding, or cycling with the dogs, and I try to convey that to them. To be honest, I don't have a huge amount of experience with many different dogs. I have looked after various dogs belonging to friends I've looked after a few times, though. If you have a dog with behavioral issues, its probably not a good fit. I also prefer to only do full-day overnight stays with your dog after I've taken him out for a walk once and when we both know we click! :) On top of this i don't have my own bench, so that would be something which you should bring with you in case of a sleepover.  I’m responsible, caring, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I often pet sit (both cats and dogs) for friends and family, and now I’m excited to extend that care to others in the neighbourhood. I welcome only vaccinated pets into my home, and I am also happy to make visits to yours. Whether it’s cuddles, playtime, or just some quiet company, I’ll make sure they feel relaxed and loved while you’re away.
I can administer medication to pets, whether mixed in food or given directly in the mouth, ears, eyes, or via injection. I’m comfortable doing injections after we’ve done it together once, so I can see how your pet responds.
I also offer bathing and brushing services. If hosting, your pet will never be left alone for more than 3 hours. I currently work from home and can easily integrate pet care into my daily routine. If that changes and I’m not able to commit, I’ll be transparent and decline the booking. For dog walks, I take a maximum of two dogs per walk, but only after meeting them individually and assessing how they behave around other dogs.
Each walk lasts 30 minutes (tho I always tend to do more if we are enjoying and I have the time), though I’m happy to adjust for shorter or longer walks depending on your pet’s needs. When it comes to boarding, I only host one dog at a time in my home to ensure personalized care. They will not be left alone for more than 3 hrs.
