From the moment I met Velancia, I had a bad feeling. She arrived late without notifying me, and during our brief walk to my home, she seemed overly focused on what time I’d return—which immediately raised red flags. I even told a friend I didn’t trust her (something I’ve never felt with any other sitter), and asked him to stop by and check in. Thank goodness I did. Shortly after I left, she abandoned my dog, left my front door unlocked, and never contacted me to explain. My dog was alone, distressed, and barking, clearly experiencing anxiety. When I texted her, she claimed she had an emergency—but made no attempt to call or message me beforehand, which is completely unacceptable. When I return, I’ll have to check whether anything is missing from my home. This sitter is unethical, unprofessional, and completely untrustworthy. I would never recommend her to anyone who cares about the safety of their pet or home.

Valencia did a good job. She communicated with us when we contacted her. I might use her again. One problem was that I had a cash gratuity to give her, however she was not able to schedule a time to meet with us after staying with our pet. I wanted to see how everything with her visit and learn what would help in the future. All in all, I think it was a good decision to have her.
