Caring For Stray Cats
The cats my family had (& still have) when I was growing up at home were all strays. Two from a man experiencing homelessness in Manhattan, one abandoned in a park in the Bronx, a fourth found in Queens, & the most recent addition came with the house my family moved to. I used to do drop in visits for my neighbor, my mom’s friend, who also had adopted a lot of strays; I can remember seven of them in total, most of whom she had the same time! I just have one cat of my own now whom I adopted from the 9 Lives Cat Cafe through Misty Eyes, but I fed a lot of Monon cats daily before I got Pumpkin.

Safety, trust & environment
My fiancée & I are very particular about Pumpkin, so we understand that pet owners can have specific expectations. Maybe your cat or dog only likes to play in a specific way, or maybe a bunch of ways & they pick a different one each day & I’ll have to figure it out. Pump’s pretty self sufficient, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t spoil her. We don’t see her drink from her automatic water fountain, but we still clean it & change the filter regularly. & don’t worry, having gone to college & graduate school, I’m very good at following directions, & learning to give directions over the past three years teaching has only made me better at it.

Timothy went above and beyond for us and our cats! We hired Timothy because we had a trip planned, but one of our cats got sick and needed someone to give him meds while we were gone. Timothy did a great job with giving our cat multiple medications in both pill and liquid form. Our cats really liked Timothy too and would beg him for pets. We also loved that Timothy sent thorough updates with pictures after every visit. Aside from doing the job description excellently, he was very flexible and helpful when our plans changed. We had to adjust the dates and almost had to cancel, but Timothy was very kind and understanding about it all. We also had a small emergency while we were gone - our apartment building’s fire alarm was triggered, and we had no idea if it was a real fire or false alarm. Timothy didn’t hesitate to head right over to check out the situation and help our cats calm down. We would not have felt comfortable going on our trip if it hadn’t been for Timothy; we knew our cats would be in good hands. Timothy understands how important pets are to their owners and genuinely wants to help. We will absolutely hire him again and encourage others to do the same!

Schedule
I teach at a middle & high school downtown, so not only do I have time in the mid to late afternoons & weekends, but I have summers almost completely free. Just let me know when you need me & I can probably come through!
