I currently co-own a reptile shop; this allows me to make my own schedule, which gives me the flexibility to have a wide range of availability. Just reach out and we can make something work. I don't mind early mornings or late nights.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide care exclusively in your home, where pets feel safest and most comfortable. Keeping your pet in their familiar environment reduces stress and helps maintain trust and consistency in their daily routine. As a professional dog trainer that has an extensive background in behavior, with over 10 years of experience, I’m skilled in handling reactive, fearful, and trauma-affected dogs using calm, positive, and science-based methods. My background in veterinary support and animal health ensures I can confidently manage medication administration, monitor subtle signs of stress or illness, and respond appropriately in emergencies. I also specialize in exotic animal care—as a herpetologist with 20+ years of experience and a degree in Biology with a Wildlife Conservation minor, I’m well-versed in reptile, amphibian, and small exotic husbandry, handling, and enrichment. I respect every client’s home and provide updates, photos, and honest communication so you can rest easy knowing your pets—furred, scaled, or feathered—are safe, understood, and cared for as if they were my own.
Information Tanna H. would like to know about your pet
While I pride myself in being able to read your dog and am confident that I am able to give them what they need; no one knows your dog better than YOU. So I always welcome and encourage owners to give me as much information as possible on what your dog prefers and needs. Especially dogs whoa re reactive or have trauma, knowing what their triggers are is very important so I can ensure to avoid those triggers. This will give myself and you reassurance that every interaction and activity that we engage in will be controlled and strictly positive experiences.
A typical day
When it comes to a day-to-day activity that I will implement with anyone's pet, I like to use the phrase, "take care of the dog that is in front of you." Meaning, what I do with a dog, depends entirely on that specific dog. Because each dog is different, with their own preferences, personalities and needs. As a dog trainer that specializes in behavior modification, I am great at reading a dog's needs rather quickly and adjusting to their needs and wants. This can range from playing fetch, a leizurely walk, love and affection, working on obedience skills for dogs who love to work, etc. I will always tae care of the dog in front of me to ensure that their specific needs are met.

Reviews

I really appreciated TJ’s quick communication and the experience she brought to taking care of my pup! Was easy to work with, flexible ant the last minute and would love to book again!

Tanna was amazing to have as a sitter for Dozer! She was so kind and he absolutely ADORES her! She sent pictures and kept me up to date on everything during my week away. I know he looks forward to seeing her again in a few weeks!

TJ is very knowledgeable about dogs and was very flexible with scheduling
Tanna has a wealth of knowledge and experience that’s truly hard to find when it comes to living with and caring for a variety of animals. She has taken exceptional care of my special-needs dog, and I never have to worry when he’s in her hands—her training in veterinary practices gives me complete peace of mind. Even my typically shy cat comes out to greet her and will happily play, which is a big deal in our household! We miss having Tanna in our area and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet guardian. I know she’ll book up quickly, so be sure to get on her schedule before you miss out.
