My schedule is very flexible this summer! Since I work at an elementary school during the school year, I have the summer months off and am available throughout the day to care for your pets. Aside from occasionally carpooling my son to camp/sports, my schedule is wide open, allowing me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Whether your pet needs drop-in visits, walks, companionship, or a consistent routine while you're away, I'm happy to work with your schedule to provide dependable, attentive care.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I prefer caring for dogs in their own home whenever possible, where they can remain in a familiar, comfortable environment and maintain their normal routine. I understand that changes can be stressful for some pets, and I strive to make your time away as calm and worry-free as possible. My schedule is flexible, and I'm happy to work around your dog's individual needs, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and favorite activities. I also welcome the opportunity to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand so your pet can get to know me and you can feel completely confident that they'll be in caring, capable hands.

A typical day

I love keeping pets active, happy, and engaged! If your dog enjoys playtime, I’m more than happy to throw a ball or frisbee, go for walks, or explore a favorite trail or park. If they’re comfortable in the car and you give me advance notice, I’m also open to taking them on little adventures—whether it’s a dog-friendly spot nearby or just a fun ride to break up their day. Every pet has their own idea of fun, and I’m always happy to match their energy and comfort level to make sure they’re enjoying themselves safely.

Pet care experience

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. With more than 30 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, I've been surrounded by pets since I was a child. In fact, my very first job was walking neighborhood dogs when I was in middle school—and my love for caring for animals has only grown since then. I've raised and trained my own dogs from puppyhood, giving me firsthand experience with house training, socialization, leash training, and the patience and consistency puppies need to thrive. My dogs are truly part of our family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own. I also have experience caring for senior pets who require daily medications, as well as rescue dogs who may need extra patience, understanding, and a calm approach due to anxiety or special feeding routines. I understand that every pet has their own personality, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Beyond dogs and cats, I've cared for many other animals over the years, including birds, fish, hamsters, turtles, frogs, lizards, and hermit crabs. I'm comfortable caring for a wide variety of pets and am always happy to learn about their individual needs. In my full-time career, I work in an elementary school, so I have summers off and additional some flexibility throughout the year (outside of carpooling to my kid’s sports 😉). That allows me to provide dependable, attentive care and plenty of time, love, and companionship for your furry (or feathered or scaly!) family members. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets are safe, happy, and treated like family while you're away.

Suzie has been a trusted, compassionate care giver for both of our dachshunds. Our first dachshund was geriatric and Suzie gave her special attention and care in her golden years while we were out of town and on several occasions when we were gone for long days. We have a puppy dachshund now who has a chronic kidney condition requiring injections and medication distribution. Suzie is the perfect woman for the job and I know I can trust her to administer correctly and also spoil our dog with love and attention in the process. Both of our dachshunds adore Suzie. They are both skeptical of strangers and shy, but Suzie is no stranger to our pups. If you need simple care of letting a dog out through the day, overnight care, or support for a dog with special needs, Suzie is the woman for the job!
