DO NOT ALLOW YOUR FUR BABIES TO STAY WITH THIS LADY! If I could put negative 1,000 stars I honestly would. I have a 10 year old cat named SharkBait who I have had since a kitten. I hired Shay to care for Sharky shark for a few days. At drop off I walked into her small apartment and brought SharkBait's things, I opened SharkBait's crate and called him, he came out immediately and went into her living room to explore. Shay grabbed my cat and said the first few hours he will be in the bathroom to acclimate, I agreed and shay made me well aware that SharkBait was going not going to be in the bathroom for long. I hugged and cuddled SharkBait a goodbye, he was purring and clean. During the stay Shay only provided photos of my fur baby in the bathroom, her updates were sporadic, at one point shay said she would have to get photos of SharkBait for me after her grocery shopping, I hadn't received photos every day as promised at drop off. SharkBait was stuck in a TINY bathroom for days and had I know at all that Shay kept Sharky in the bathroom the entire time, she admitted it to me in messages too after the stay, I would have picked him up and found a new pet sitter. Shay also sent me a very unprofessional video of a tiktok, she was rude when I told her it was unprofessional. At pick up, the large white towel I had used to cover SharkBait's kennel during transport and the blanket that was in SharkBait's kennel were gone and replaced by a small hand towel that didn't even cover his kennel and a huge blanket that was not mine. Shay neglected to tell me that she had tossed my belongings and thought it would be okay. The specific food provided for SharkBait was switched with a weird brand. After I got SharkBait home, I couldn't believe how skittish and flinchy SharkBait was, I have cried every day since picking him up from Shay's because SharkBait is not the same. He has always been a lover to kids, cats, dogs even strangers! My cat has turned into a nervous wreck! I am not sure what Shay did during those few days to my fur baby but it has made SharkBait such a flighty and scared kitty. When I spoke to Shay about my displeasure of the stay and expressed how SharkBait has not been the same shay did not show any care for tossing my cat's belongings or keeping him locked up in her bathroom, she admitted SharkBait was kept in the bathroom after the stay. Shay also had the nerve to say she was offended when she affected a cat during the stay and so much so that SharkBait is affected after the stay at home. When I asked for a refund she told me to speak to Rover and that if I did try to start a case with Rover against her for the refund, that it would be shut down and she was extremely rude. I could tell no matter what I said she did not care how she treated and cared for SharkBait, it was heartbreaking and I don't want any other fur baby to be in Shay's care for the pets protection. Please for the love of God, choose a different pet sitter. Not Shay! I was promised simple pet sitter care for my cat and she failed at it. Animals have feelings and are alive, they are family. Shay does not show this. I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews but this hurt my fur baby, my family member and it is not right.
