I currently work remotely part-time, which allows me to maintain a very flexible schedule for pet care. I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, pet sitting, and plant care throughout the week. While I am not able to provide boarding in my own home, I am happy to provide overnight care in your home so your pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment.

In a client’s home, I make sure doors, gates, leashes, food, medications, and household rules are handled with care. Before caring for a pet, I like to know as much as possible about their normal routine, personality, and any special needs. Helpful details include feeding instructions, potty habits, favorite toys or activities, leash behavior, medications, allergies, fears, triggers, and how they usually respond to new people or other animals. I also appreciate knowing any house rules, emergency contacts, and veterinary information so I can keep each pet as safe, comfortable, and stress-free as possible.
A typical day
I’m happy to tailor activities to each pet’s personality, energy level, and normal routine. For dogs, this may include walks, playtime with favorite toys, backyard time, or just relaxing together. For lower-energy pets, seniors, or cats, I’m also very happy to provide calm companionship, cuddles if they want them, and cozy TV time so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away.

My pet care experience goes far beyond simply loving animals. I have cared for cats, dogs, fish, horses, small mammals, and wildlife, and I recently earned my M.S. in Wildlife Science. I have worked as a dog walker, a pet/house/plant sitter, an animal research technician caring for mice, rats, rabbits, and dogs, and as a veterinary assistant at a cat and dog vaccine clinic. I also have experience drawing blood and administering medication to a variety of domestic and wildlife animals, so I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and paying close attention to each animal’s needs. I am very much a cat person, too, and I understand that cats have different needs than dogs, including patience, quiet companionship, respect for boundaries, and careful attention to subtle changes in behavior. I am patient, reliable, and attentive to animal behavior, and I enjoy helping pets feel safe, whether they need a good walk, playtime, calm companionship, or plenty of cuddles.

I cannot express to you the patience and care Sara took to care for my highly anxious fur babies! My dogs were in shock to not have me there, but Sara patiently won them over with slow, quiet steps. She kept me informed about every angle of progress. The most important thing about Sara was her ability to calmly let my girls get used to her presence, and I was kept informed whether something she did worked or not. If one thing didn't work, she was right back to try another way to gain their trust. Sara made my trip (for a funeral) less painful and I will ABSOLUTELY ask her to watch my babies again!!! She also took fantastic care of my house!!
Sara has been my go-to pet sitter for 15 years. She has a plethora of knowledge about all animals, but is especially great with pets. I’ve only needed cat care, but Sara has also provided exceptional dog care for my sister and her two dogs as well. I cannot recommend Sara enough! She is a trustworthy animal lover who is punctual and dependable. She will love your pet like her own!
