Come Play With Fun Loving Bichons

Dog loving family with decades of experience, with all types of dogs: small, medium, large, from puppies to palliative care and disabled. Last minute bookings can be accommodated. Full professional dog grooming is also available upon request. We do not charge fees for any amount of walks, treats, playtime or other such items some Rover.com sitters feel need additional charges. Our over night sitting rate is a flat fee, and is always processed through Rover for everyone's benefit. Why I love dog sitting We have had all types of dogs, our entire lives. The majority of experience has been with larger dogs, including a Rotti pack in the late 1990s and early 2000s. For decades dogs have found our energy claiming and peaceful, most likely because they sense that we will keep every dog safe. Additionally, Robin's degree was in Animal Science Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Biology. About my yard Both front and backyards have a lot of space (see pictures), but neither is fenced in. This is why we do not let dogs simply run around outside without close supervision. We do have a very large basement area for that kind of play, when we have friends over (see pictures). This play area is preferred by all, when it's raining or snowing outside. Items to bring along / not to bring along Kindly ask your dog(s) to bring their collar (or harness), food, and any medicines. Please place dry food in ziplock bags with their names written thereupon, individual meals or consolidated is fine. It's best to include extra food, just in case your pick up date is pushed back a week or two - a 3 weeks delay has happened. Please do not bring leads, bowls, kennels, toys, etc. We have more than enough of everything; only their collar and food is required. If bringing a textile that smells of home makes the humans more at ease, that's fine. Dogs do not need such things, as they quickly become too busy to notice when playing with other dogs. To be safe and sure, please include any medicine instructions / schedules in writing - remember Robin has formal veterinarian training, which should make your life easier.

We are extremely fortunate to have found Robin. She has watched our little guy for many years. We find Robin to be an extremely thoughtful caregiver with expertise in caring for and raising dogs. I trust her implicitly. Additionally, our guy has extreme anxiety, but he is always happy to be with Robin and her pups. Without Robin to take care of our pup, I don't think we would ever leave town.

We're long-time clients and can't say enough about how well cared for our little guy is when he stays with Robin. From the daily photos of walks in the neighborhood to the easy drop-off/pick-up, I wouldn't think of anyone else when I'm going out of town and can't bring Kobe with me. Her own dogs are great playmates and Robin has made an effort to really know my little guy. He's always content and well-exercised when I pick him up.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks There are many nearby walks, just out the door (see pictures), and when we all hop in the car, within a short drive. Our dogs tend to walk a minimum of 2 to 3 times per day. So we do try to change things up whenever possible, for everyone involved. Your dog's sleeping arrangement All our dogs sleep in their own kennels. They love their kennels, because they know they can stretch out, paws in the air, and sleep, without concern of any cheeky pranksters nearby. We have a few extra small and medium sized Vari Kennels, but if your dog(s) need intermediate sized kennels or larger, please bring those kennels with you, as you drop everyone off. We will attach water bowls to the kennels, if missing, as we have more than enough. All dogs must be able to remain comfortable, drink clean fresh water at any time they desire, 24/7, and eat their food in safety. If your dog(s) are new to the kennel experience and the benefits that follow, please feel free to let us know you would like some kennel training. When other dogs watch our pack naturally take advantage of their own personal kennel throughout the day, it is a natural doggy experience to learn by doing as the dog pack does, and transition to being kennel trained. Time I'll spend with your dog Our dogs spend pretty much all day with us, with the exception of being kennelled while we run an errand once or twice a week. They run around room to room, chasing toys and balls we throw, or they just hangout somewhere in our offices, on a pillow, cushion, or a bit of floor. At our feet, under our desks, is a hot favourite for many past clients. We have previously sat dogs with a few discipline issues. Because we are good doggy communicators, while those dogs stay with us, without any training, many of those discipline issues just went away. We do not guarantee the excellent behaviour continues when dogs return home, but over the years, it has been know to occur from time to time. If you are a repeat client, looking to book another stay, but our calendar shows us as unavailable for the dates you wish, let us know anyway. Because a known dog is already integrated with our pack and gets along with all of our dogs individually, your dog is therefore much less work and risk, as compared to a new unknown dog. So we might still be able to fit you in.

Your dog(s) only need to bring their collars, food, meds, and kennel(s) (if they are bigger than a Bichon). We have a more than enough leads, bowls, toys, and the like. If you wish to bring a reminder of home, a couple of toys and or some bedding would do the trick. However, for most of our clients, these homely items were almost completely ignored. Our dogs' toys, doggy lounging areas, and just being under our office desks, have been much more interesting. If your dog(s) are super strong chewers, we have a few toys that are suitable, due to our Chanel. But it would be best if your dog(s) bring their own super strong chew items, to ensure they don't get into trouble. If your dog(s) has special needs, let us know at the 'meet and greet', prior to the stay. We have had all sorts come through our door, over the last 40 years, and each time, it's been perfectly fine. There really isn't a bad breed, or a bad dog; we are happy and confident to sit every one. If any dog is having severe social issues, we might segregate him/her from the other dogs, because we will ensure everyone is safe, without exception.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
