Rebecca was fantastic for the 3 days she came to cat sit Mabel. She came for a meet & greet the week before and was very knowledgeable about cats & cat care. Mabel even let us sit near her, which is big for her as she's a very nervous cat with strangers. Fast forward to Rebecca's first visit and we received a video of Mabel happily sat on her lap, which is unheard of with a brand new cat sitter! We were very happy with Rebecca's updates, she has left the cat items very clean & tidy, and we came home this evening to a clean litter tray and a very happy cat! Thank you so much

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Rebecca. She left my dog and puppy unattended, then it appears she has blocked me so I cannot even message her! Rebecca met both of my dog and 14 week old puppy before the booking. I was completely upfront that my dog can play quite roughly and explained that she may need to separate them at times to calm him down. We also discussed normal interactions between dogs, including an older dog correcting a puppy. During the booking, Rebecca became uncomfortable with his behaviour. I completely respect that a she has the right to remove herself from a situation she genuinely feels is unsafe. My concern is how she chose to handle it. Rebecca messaged (whilst I was at work) me to tell me she felt unsafe for my dog to be around herself and my puppy. She also told me that she had been able to safely separate the dogs. Instead of calling me to discuss the situation, she sent me a message and left without knowing whether I had even seen it. I was five hours away and had trusted her with my dog and puppy. Most concerningly, this meant leaving my 14-week-old puppy without care, alone in a crate without water for over 5 hours. Had Rebecca called me, we could have discussed keeping my older dog separated if he made her uncomfortable and I could have made alternative arrangements. My older dog has never shown any signs of aggressive behaviour. He attends daycare, is used as their temperament test dog for new dogs, and has been cared for by other sitters without any issues. I have never previously had anyone raise concerns about his behaviour. Based on this experience, I have concerns about Rebecca's ability to accurately interpret and manage normal dog behaviour, particularly when dealing with large dogs who play differently from what she may be used to. For me, the biggest issue is that Rebecca knowingly left my 14-week-old puppy alone in a crate, without care or access to water, for over five hours. She left without knowing whether I had even seen her message, when I would see it, or when I would be able to get home. I was five hours away and had no opportunity to arrange alternative care because she did not call me. Regardless of how she felt about my older dog's behaviour, I find it extremely concerning that she made the decision to leave a 14-week-old puppy without care in those circumstances. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled. This job is a serious job that needs care and attention not just to get an easy pay out. In my opinion Rebecca is under qualified to do this job.
