Pet care experience
Intuitive, Caring, Responsible, Fun
Nina loves dogs, and dogs love her too! As an intuitive, affectionate, playful, and responsible person, she makes friends swiftly with all kinds—from playful to quiet—and including rescue and high-anxiety doggies as well. She has the compassionate ability to attune to each dog's personality through intuitive sensitivity (and thus to custom-tailor her approach). She grew up with dogs and has many friends and family members with dogs for whom she has cared. Nina spent thirty years living mostly in India, where she engaged in volunteer work as a chaplain in a hospital, working with the dying, among other works. She is a freelance editor, writer and poet, working from home and taking care of her 89-year-old mom. Dogs feel comfortable in her presence and bond with her easily. Many have called her a 'dog-whisperer!' You will find her easy communicate with. She has experience with all kinds of dogs, including those with special needs, like separation anxiety, blindness, diabetes, deafness, Cushing's disease, Leukemia, hip issues, ear issues, etc. She is experienced in administering both oral medicines and injections.

Nina was wonderful with Roger. They had a lovely day!

Nina is an amazing house and pet sitter!! Very caring, detailed and an awesome communicator. So respectful and kind. She took great care of our cocker spaniel who has separation anxiety as we adopted him. She was so attentive to him and she was very conscientious to follow all instructions. I am so thankful for her being available. She is great so book early!!!

Always amazing!
Nina is the absolute best!!! She’s very sweet, kind and trustworthy. We received daily updates and our fur babies bonded with her…almost too much 😁 We would recommend her to friends and family. We can’t say enough good things about her!

Nina is now our #1 sitter! She is amazing with our Stella and was able to get our senior dog to eat (who is VERY stubborn!) Highly recommend!

Schedule
Nina works from home, so her schedule is entirely flexible when boarding doggies. She does tend to get booked up, weeks or months ahead, with both pet sitting and boarding. But she does not mind last minute bookings, and if she is able to squeeze you in, she will! Her alternative, creative lifestyle allows her immense flexibility in terms of dog-sitting availability and timing.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Nina accepts pet-sitting bookings from Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs, Naples, etc. She is also willing to travel, up to fifty miles, for an added fee. Nina's Home: Nina lives in a lovely gated community, taking care of her eighty-nine-year-old mother. their home is in the 55+ section of ISLAND PARK VILLAGE—a quiet gated community right on the edge of the Estero Nature Preserve. It's a wonderful place to walk, and dogs love it too. When Nina pet sits in the owner's home, she is respectful, neat and considerate. She will get the mail, water plants, take out garbage and recycling, wash linens she uses and bring in packages. She will leave your home tidy and well kept. Some regular dog-boarders also stay with her mom, Joan, on occasions when Nina is pet sitting and unavailable for boarding. Pet owners are very happy with her mom's care as well, and they feel lucky to have that backup option, as Nina tends to get booked up months ahead (for holidays and weekends, especially). Nina is willing to take to two dogs at a time, as the gated community she lives in (Island Park Village) has a two-dog limit rule. She is also open to booking one dog at a time for clients whose doggies don't get along with other dogs or have special needs, like high anxiety. Exclusive boarding would have an added fee, since she would be turning down other bookings to accommodate the dog's need to be solo. For pet sitting clients, Nina can commit to being present in the home 24-7 for special needs doggies who cannot be left alone at all - for an added fee.
A typical day
Nina will treat your pets with great care as if they were her own. She will play with them, cuddle them, bond with them and engage in whatever activities you wish! She is easy to communicate with and will listen attentively to your preferences in order to adjust with any special requests. She will walk in nature and in the beautiful gated community where she lives, located right next to a nature preserve. They can sleep in the bed with her, if desired, and they are allowed on the furniture (and laps) too.
