Pet care experience

Enrichment focused sitter/walker

I have lived with dogs, cats, birds, and other small animals my entire life (30+ years) and have had my own dog and cat for the last 10 years. Through fostering, volunteering, and training, I have extensive experience raising puppies, caring for seniors, administering daily medication, and training and managing complex behavior challenges (specifically, dog reactivity). I have a particular interest in positive reinforcement training and behavior, including working with leash reactivity, fear, overstimulation, and impulse control. I believe every interaction with a dog is an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen communication, and make their day a little better. When caring for your dog or cat, I’ll tailor our time together to your and their preferences. Whether that’s physical activity, a slow sniffy walk, fetch, enrichment/puzzle feeders/toys, or just time together, I will make it happen. I want their routine to feel as close to yours as possible! I’m also very comfortable caring for cats and regularly provide drop-in visits for feline friends. I understand that cats have unique personalities and routines, so I’m happy to meet them where they are whether that’s interactive playtime or quietly earning their trust while making sure their needs are met. As a pet parent myself, I know how much trust it takes to hand someone your keys and the care of a beloved family member. I treat every home with respect, communicate proactively, send detailed updates with plenty of photos, and pay close attention to the little details that help your pet feel safe and happy while you’re away.

Nick was great!! Was very patient and gentle with our sweet skittish dog and managed to get her to warm up to him. Was very professional, friendly, and the exact right amount of communicative. Followed instructions great and went above and beyond. Will definitely book with him again.

Nick was a wonderful sitter for Teddy. He was kind, communicative and Teddy enjoyed himself very much. I will absolutely use Nick’s services again and appreciate the care he gave to our puppy. His dog got along well with our dog and made it that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend! Thank you, Nick!

Nick is fantastic! Our dog is currently a full blown teenager, aka we don’t always want to listen, and nick had no problem working with his quirks. Nick was more than willing to meet up before for a meet and greet, Indy instantly fell in love with Nick!

Safety, trust & environment

I have lived with dogs mg entire life and recognize the importance of ensuring a safe, comfortable home. I’m attentive to details like ensuring secure door closures, and in-home preferences like keeping pets off the couch or ensuring nothing unsafe is within reach. Just tell me what’s important to keep an eye on.

Pets

A typical day

I spend a lot of time training my dog (fun tricks plus all sorts of obedience) and if this is something you’d like me to do with your dog (the mental stimulation is so good for their brain!) I would be happy to, and even to work on specific things you request. I realize for some pets, physical exercise or quiet companionship may be more their (and your) pace, so I’ll meet their needs as you share them.
