Caring and experienced dog lover

I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and just recently said goodbye to my 17 year old pit bull rescue. I’ve been the go to sitter in my neighborhood for the past 15 years and I’m lucky to have been successful in our local fur community by word of mouth. I am well versed in senior dogs, dogs with physical limitations, dogs with allergies, administering medication, and handling reactive behaviors. I live in a large home with no roommates or pets, and have a large fenced yard with lots of areas to explore. There’s a hiking trail just feet away from my front door and I miss having my 4 legged companion to walk the trails with. Being the fur mom of a rescue, I understand that each dogs comes with instructions and I take that seriously. I understand the importance of activity in high energy dogs, and that new sitters need to be extra affectionate in the absence of a dogs owner. I love spending time outside and will love your fur baby as if it were my own!

We were very happy with the care our dog received. Mila was communicative, attentive to our instructions, and clearly took great care of our dog while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing everything was being handled so well. We’re grateful to have found someone we can trust and would gladly book with her again.

Mila has been incredibly responsible, reliable and considerate in the many years she has helped us with our animals. She is an avid animal lover, and it shows in how she caters to others animals as well as her own. It’s clear she has the knowledge to keep up with your pets training, and the energy to exhaust them! I fully trust her with caring for my animals. My dogs might even love her more than they love me!

Wonderful sitter! Took great care of Scout and kept me updated with photos/videos. Scout went on fun hikes and looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. Highly recommend!

I have known Mila for many years. She has proven to be a very committed, thoughtful and trustworthy young women. She grew up with pets and was responsible for their care at a very young age. Mila started dog and cat sitting in her teens and kept many returning clients through her high school years and beyond. She owned her first dog as soon as she graduated from high school. She cared for her from a pub straight through her passing of 18 years. She cared for her dog through many health issues and surgery procedures. Mila has a deep love and connection for dogs as her own relationship with her dog far surpassed just being a companion. I would highly recommend Mila for your thoughtful consideration. In all those years of caring for pets I have never heard one complaint, only praises.

I wouldn’t leave my dog with anyone else!!! Bully breed parent here, and my search for an amazing sitter was long and hard (so much that I selfishly don’t want to share her). My dog is extremely stubborn, he has an aggressive reactive behavior to wheels and he’s a humper too. Each time I would seek a new sitter, I would give detailed instructions about his behaviors, what to avoid, and a recipe for success- but Mila is the ONLY sitter that genuinely understood/followed my guidelines. She is perfectly affectionate. She understands the importance of structure, play, snuggles and finds the balance in the art of love with boundaries. Even now that I have moved 2 hours away, she is my go-to and has even found ways to accommodate my travel with the long distance to make sure that she can stay my dog’s sitter. Through the past 6 years of her being my go-to I have witnessed her “dog-whispering” capabilities in regards to elderly dogs, high energy dogs, dog-reactive dogs, and specialty medical needs. She has helped me with training, and I trust her so much that she has even found ways to work with my dog on his reactions or with my permission I allowed her to use my dog to work with other reactive dogs (it went amazingly well). One time, I was on a business trip and left my dog with my partner. My dog had an allergic reaction and my partner did not know how to react. Luckily I had left Mila as an emergency contact and she was there in 10 minutes and stepped up to save the day. Quick reaction, important decision making, and a friend to my fur baby when I was gone. I hate to admit this but she makes me question my own abilities. Most of all, I appreciate her attention to detail, her consistent check ups with photos, and her honest updates. It’s a relief to find a sitter that loves my dogs’ quirks as much as I do.

Schedule

I generally work from home which allows for ample walks and mid day snuggles! If I need to go into the office, I am use to making time before and after work for walks. In addition the that, if owners are comfortable, dogs can have access to the fenced yard throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a large completely fenced yard. I have an extra large crate if that is preferred. There are no other pets on the property. There are no kids on the property and I have no roommates.

A typical day

A typical day begins with morning pets/snuggles, then out back for sniffs and morning potties. Next we move on the breakfast. First activity of the day depends on dogs preference, but can range from, a mellow walk to the park, to a hike in the hills behind my house to a beach visit. Now it’s time for a siesta and then onto to dinner and another walk in the neighborhood or along the trails to round out our day. To prepare for bed, of course more snuggles and pets before our last potty break and onto bed.
