Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I have extensive experience with dogs, including owning and training German Shorthaired Pointers and Dobermans, so I’m very familiar with managing high-energy, intelligent, and strong-willed breeds. This background has given me a strong understanding of dog behavior, body language, and the importance of structure, supervision, and consistency. I always prioritize a safe, controlled environment during walks and care visits, and I’m attentive to details like leash handling, surroundings, and following your instructions exactly. I’m comfortable reinforcing training routines and making sure your dog stays both physically safe and emotionally at ease. You can feel confident knowing your pet is in capable, experienced hands.

Information Mia P. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, I would appreciate knowing a few important details to ensure the safest and most consistent care possible: • Your dog’s breed (please be transparent) • Your dog’s typical behavior, temperament, and any triggers (strangers, other dogs, noises, etc.) • Any bite history, reactivity, or escape tendencies (door darting, fence jumping, leash pulling) • Daily routine details (feeding times, walk schedule, potty habits, bedtime routine) • Medication instructions (what, when, dosage, and any special handling notes) • Feeding instructions (amount, schedule, allergies, or restrictions) • Emergency contacts and preferred vet information • Home entry instructions (key, lockbox, codes, alarms, security systems, cameras, etc.) • Any areas of the home that are off-limits or special rules for indoor/outdoor access • Leash, harness, and equipment location and how you prefer them used • Recall cues or training commands your dog already knows • Any recent changes in behavior, health, or routine I should be aware of Having this information ahead of time helps me maintain your dog’s routine, ensure safety in and around the home, and provide the most reliable care possible.

A typical day

A typical day caring for your dog starts with making sure they feel comfortable and settled into their routine. I begin with a potty break or walk, followed by breakfast and fresh water, while keeping closely to the feeding schedule you provide. I love starting the day with positive energy, whether that means a nice walk, some playtime, or a little training reinforcement to keep their mind engaged. Throughout the day, I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection based on their personality and energy level. I’m very comfortable keeping active dogs stimulated through walks, games, and structure, while also making calmer dogs feel relaxed and secure. I include regular potty breaks, play sessions, rest time, and lots of check-ins to make sure they’re comfortable. In the evening, we wind down with another walk, dinner, and some calm companionship so they feel safe and content. My goal is always to keep their day as close to their normal routine as possible while making it fun, enriching, and stress-free.

Loving (+ Cheap!) Care 💛

Pet care experience

Hi!! My name is Mia and I’m a recent astrophysics grad. I’m someone who genuinely loves being around animals and brings a lot of energy, attention, and care into everything I do. I’ve owned and trained German Shorthaired Pointers and Dobermans (so yes… I can absolutely keep up with the chaos), including working with them in hunting shows. High-energy, smart, slightly dramatic dogs? I’m very used to it and honestly love it. I’m naturally very attentive and detail-oriented, which definitely comes through in how I care for pets. I notice the little things (examples: changes in behavior, mood, appetite) and make sure your dog is not just “watched,” but actually cared for and understood. I’m also an EMT with 5 years of experience, so staying calm, responsible, and ready for anything is second nature to me. Personality wise: I’m upbeat, reliable, and very “all in” when it comes to animals. Your dog will get plenty of attention, structure, and affection (and probably be a little spoiled if I’m being honest). Whether they need lots of exercise, consistency with training, or just someone patient and calm, I adjust to what they need. I treat every pet like they’re my own, and I want you to feel completely comfortable and confident leaving them with me 🤍 ✍🏻 Please note: I will have a contract you need to sign prior to me caring for your pet!! ‼️Attention owners‼️ Unfortunately due to my own safety and experience, I will not be able to house sit or care for any of the following breeds: Pitbulls, Cane Corsos, Presas, Doggo Argentino, XL Bullies, Boerboel, bully mixes, pit mixes and Corso mixes. I may not take certain Mastiff breeds due to my apartment. I apologise for any inconvenience and wish you luck on your dog care journey! If you wish for me to care for your cat, please book boarding!!

Mia is very reliable and responsive. She took good care of my two older dogs, and paid careful attention to their individual needs. I recommend her highly!

I’ve known Mia for years, and one of the things that stands out most about her is how genuinely compassionate and attentive she is, especially with animals. She has a natural way of making dogs feel comfortable and cared for, even if they’re shy or high-energy. She has watched my dog while I was out of town, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better care. She followed all instructions exactly, kept me updated, and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was not only safe but also happy and well-exercised. I could tell my dog felt completely at ease with her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Mia is reliable, thoughtful, and truly treats every animal like her own. I would trust her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pet with both skill and heart.

As Mia’s mother, I’ve had the opportunity to watch her care for animals her entire life, and I can confidently say she is one of the most responsible and intuitive animal caregivers I know. She has owned and trained German Shorthaired Pointers and Dobermans, and I’ve seen firsthand how patient, structured, and attentive she is with them, especially when it comes to training and maintaining routines. She also has a big heart for rescue animals. Over the years, she has taken shelter dogs on “doggy day out” trips, giving them a break from the shelter environment and the chance to experience love, exercise, and socialization. She is always thoughtful about their comfort and safety, and animals naturally respond well to her calm and confident energy. In addition to her lifelong experience with dogs, her professionalism as an EMT shows in how responsible and composed she is in any situation. I would trust her completely with any pet, knowing they would be safe, cared for, and genuinely loved.
