A typical day
I enjoy keeping dogs engaged with activities like playing fetch, going for neighborhood strolls, or relaxing while watching birds and nature outside—or even pet-friendly shows on TV. For kitties, I like to offer interactive play with wand toys, bird and squirrel watching through windows or on TV, and lots of gentle cuddles to make them feel loved.

Whether you have a playful pup, a cuddly kitty, or a senior pet with special needs—I’m here to provide dependable, loving care tailored to their needs. In addition to working at a humane society—where I walked, groomed, medicated, and supported dogs of all breeds—I’ve also been a trusted, independent pet sitter for many years. I’ve cared for pets in all kinds of situations and homes, giving me well-rounded experience with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. My schedule is flexible, so I’m happy to work around what’s best for you and your pet. I’m comfortable caring for multiple pets at once (up to five at a time), and I have experience with: Special diets and medication routines Frequent potty breaks or incontinence care Basic training like potty training and simple commands Shy or anxious cats who need extra patience and gentleness Whether it's a drop-in visit, a long walk, or overnight care, I treat every pet like family. Melissa was absolutely wonderful to work with, and after meeting her for the first time, we knew the dogs were going to be spoiled and loved on as much as possible! She took lots of great pictures, and was very responsive to messages! We definitely will be using her for any future bookings, as she kept my nerves at bay and loved them as they were her own!

I had an amazing first experience using the Rover app with Melissa! Chopper seemed comfortable, happy, and well taken care of the entire time. Melissa communicated incredibly well and sent lots of updates and pictures, which gave me a peace of mind. She was also very sweet, flexible with her availability, and active with Chopper. Melissa took Chopper on several long walks, and it was clear he had a great time with her. I would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a caring, active, and reliable sitter. I look forward to booking with her again for Chopper in the future!
