A typical day
I enjoy keeping dogs engaged with activities like playing fetch, going for neighborhood strolls, or relaxing while watching birds and nature outside—or even pet-friendly shows on TV. For kitties, I like to offer interactive play with wand toys, bird and squirrel watching through windows or on TV, and lots of gentle cuddles to make them feel loved.

Whether you have a playful pup, a cuddly kitty, or a senior pet with special needs—I’m here to provide dependable, loving care tailored to their needs. In addition to working at a humane society—where I walked, groomed, medicated, and supported dogs of all breeds—I’ve also been a trusted, independent pet sitter for many years. I’ve cared for pets in all kinds of situations and homes, giving me well-rounded experience with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. My schedule is flexible, so I’m happy to work around what’s best for you and your pet. I’m comfortable caring for multiple pets at once (up to five at a time), and I have experience with: Special diets and medication routines Frequent potty breaks or incontinence care Basic training like potty training and simple commands Shy or anxious cats who need extra patience and gentleness Whether it's a drop-in visit, a long walk, or overnight care, I treat every pet like family. Melissa did a fantastic job caring for Oliver! I looked forward to receiving her updates each day and seeing the adorable photos she managed to capture of my boy :) I could tell Oliver was in great hands and enjoyed his time with her.
Watched all four of our dogs over night, they all loved her. Showed up on time. Was very detailed oriented, paid attention to all our dog’s needs. And sent photos of our dogs throughout the day. She was also available to text for check ins. Would have her watch our dogs again, we were able to leave town with peace of mind that our dogs were well cared for.

Mellisa is an over-achieving dog sitter, who wouldn’t want that! She engaged with our two 5 month pups the whole time and tuckered them out. She sent a handful of photos and a summary of their time together which gave us joy and peace of mind. Highly recommend!
