Pet care experience

Caring dog pawrents 🐾

We really love getting to know all the new dogs we look after, and those we've come to know and become fond of after repeat care. We're reliable, and are at home all the time so have the time to look after dogs. We really love our own dogs having the chance to interact with other dogs, being able to play and have a doggy social life. Our own dogs are like children and treated with love and affection, they're a part of our family. We extend that same level of care to every dog in our care. Our Beagle is a wise and gentle companion who loves walks and snuggles and interacting with other dogs, while our Husky is a calm and shy sweetheart who adores affection and playtime's and has good character judgement like most dogs. We have a very spacious house with a lovely large fenced garden in a peaceful community backing onto the Windmill and woods, offering AMPLE space for play and exploration (garden doors constantly open for freedom to wander in and out, unless it's bad weather). Our usual haunts are either through the Windmill Woods, the nearest dog enclosure, or one of the country parks, but we do also have other routes we walk too so it doesn't become repetitive.

Mea helped me out again by accepting a booking on a short notice. She's a lovely lady, with lovely dogs and my dog got along well in her house. My dog was very well taken care of, with updates sent to me through the day. My dog made some mess in the house, but Mea was very kind about it. I'm very grateful for Mea's help and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and competent petsitter.

Paco had a lovely time and got on very well with the canine residents. Great communication beforehand and during the day - charming and diligent - will definitely use again!

Thank you so much Mea and John for looking after Simba. He really had the best time with and was so well cared for. We felt completely reassured the entire time he was with you and had no worries whatsoever. We will definitely rebook and bring him back next time so he can also spend some time with his new friends, Scout and Max. Thank you

Schedule

We work from home during the week so have the time to look after dogs, and we like that our dogs get to meet and socialise with other dogs often. Dogs in our care are free to go outside in the garden whenever they need to and always have water, food and treats and walk breaks.

Pets

A typical day

Early morning: Dogs play in garden or go for a very early walk in the neighbourhood. Later mornings let dogs outdoors in the garden together. Will try and do some recall training during the daytime using high value rewards (meat or cheese pieces). The dogs can stay out in the garden as long or as short as they indicate they want to, throughout the day; it's quite spacious so they can run around and chase each other with ease. Lunchtime walk (45mins approx give or take). I encourage sniffing as I know how stimulating and important it is for dogs (especially my hounds). Offer lunchtime treat (usually bits of meat) once we are back from walkies and let them chill out in the garden; my dogs always want to go outside to chill after walking...unless it's raining! Mid-afternoon free to play outside with toys and or treat dispensers. Lots of cuddle too if they are cuddly dogs (not all are). Free roam of the downstairs of the house. We have a gate upstairs to stop dog going in bedrooms after having many an accidents happen! Early evening walk if required, or to replace the lunchtime walk. Water is always available indoors and outside and kept fresh and topped up each day. Food according to each dog's schedule and diets with food you provide. Some days may involve more play, and others may focus more on relaxation. It depends what they need at the time. Dogs can be separated if they need personal space or to sleep on their own.

No females in heat
Mea & John can host up to 2 pets per night
**If you have a destructive dog that needs constant supervision because they chew FURNITURE we can't care for them unless it's in your own home (normal chewing on toys, socks, fingers etc that is fine and normal puppy behaviour we can accept).** **Your dog will need their crate (if they use one), their food and leads and inclement weather gear if they wear them. Please do bring enough food to last the stay. **If your dog has any special needs please let me know if advance to make sure I can look after your furry baby without any issues. I used to work in the medical profession and my dog has seasonal issues - so I'm well rehearsed in administration of tablets and creams. I'm unable to accommodate any female dogs currently in heat/bleeding during their stay due to having a carpeted home.
