Availability
I work part time from home and have a flexible schedule to accommodate your pet’s needs. This flexibility lends itself well to constant care required by puppies, the elderly and other special souls. I rarely host multiple families of dogs at one time (might be some overlap on pickup/drop off days) and prefer to focus on a quality experience for the dog over multiple bookings. If you make a request and I tell you it’s not a good fit at this time, it’s because I have carefully considered the safety and happiness of another client. Your pet will not be left unattended for extended periods of time during the day. I know firsthand how stressful it can be to find quality pet care and pride myself on being dependable and responsive.

I take the responsibility of caring for your animal seriously. I live in a rural area on a road with very little traffic. We have two horses, chickens and two dogs on our 14 acre property. I do not have a fenced area and use tie outs for porch lounging and hand walking for potty runs. Your pet will have access to the main floor of my house (no stairs) including furniture (if allowed). The ability to change the floor plan also allows to separate animals if beneficial.

Information Mary D. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet needs any accommodations or specialized treatment. I want them to have the best experience possible while in my care. PSA: Ticks are a common occurrence and we are in the heartland of Lyme disease. Current tick protection is highly recommended to protect you and your pet.
A typical day
A typical day involves choring around the homestead, while my dogs supervise. We also love to go for longer road/trail walks in addition to all the other yard tours that happen during the day. The toy box is stocked with entertaining options and Kermit is ready to play. Sunbathing and wildlife watching are some of my older dog’s favorite passive pastimes. We have a porch that overlooks the property and everyone seems to enjoy hanging out and watching the chickens forage. Something for everyone. My husband works from home several days a week and is a helpful second set of hands to divide and conquer.

Pet care experience
I’ve had a lifetime of caring for a wide range of animals. Particularly dogs and horses but all creatures welcome. Good with body language and attentive to animals needs. I’m an avid hiker and love taking dogs for walks. 💕

Mary was wonderful! Her updates were detailed and informative with personality and I had zero worries about my pup! Followed my instructions to a T and also went out of her way to add some little walks, play games, and just get to know my dog. Will definitely rebook with her next time!

Went very well. Mary was super helpful in the process and always gave updates during the week. Highly reccomend and definitely will be back!

First time drop off and it was a great experience. Our female, Pepper, found a home away from home. I know she enjoyed her time there from the pictures we were sent and how well she got along in their home with their dogs. She got lots of exercise and attention.

Josie loves spending time with Mary and her pups!
