Pet care experience
Easily distracted by pets!
Hi, I’m Madison! I’m a pet obsessed person who would love nothing more than to be surrounded by animals 24/7. I’ve grown up with pets my entire life- mostly dogs, but I’ve also had cats, Guinea pigs, leopard geckos, and a turtle. I now have 4 dogs and train future guide dogs, so I’m working with dogs constantly. If you see me in public, chances are I’ll have a guide dog in training with me. I’m the happiest when I’m holding a leash with a furry face looking up at me! Since my mom is a vet, I’ve been hanging out in an animal hospital for as long as I can remember. I feel most comfortable around animals- it comes naturally! I’m the first person my family, friends, and neighbors call when they need help with their pets. I have some fantastic repeat clients on and off Rover I’ve been working with for years now, and their pets truly feel like my own. I love training dogs of all kinds, it’s my passion! I especially love training service dogs, working dogs, and sport dogs. I’ve worked at a guide dog organization for 2 years, and I’ve been volunteering with the same school for 4 years- working hands on with hundreds of dogs from birth to retirement. I don’t know what I’d be doing if I wasn’t working with animals! I incorporate training and reinforce good behavior throughout my visits for each animal I care for. I love introducing pets to enrichment activities like puzzles, frozen toys, training, sniffy walks, etc to help them lead a more fulfilling life and enjoy our visits. I don’t mind a challenge and getting to know each dog for who they really are, and I look forward to seeing them every time! I appreciate honesty, and I ask that each pet owner tells me the truth about their pets behavior, quirks, etc so I can be fully prepared. I take safety very seriously and I don’t take any risks to compromise the well being of any animal I work with. I’m always happy to work with owners to accommodate special requests. I have personal experience with reactivity, intrahoushould dog-dog aggression, puppies, seniors, and everything in between. From Chihuahuas to Great Danes, I love and have handled them all! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, and I’m more than happy to talk :)

Ratings and reviews
Madison swooped in to save the day! We needed a sitter who could handle our quirky fur babies last minute for a holiday weekend, and Madison went above and beyond to take good care of our family! She is incredibly professional and asks all the right questions to make sure she gets everything just right. Would definitely book again!

Madison was amazing! We were very fortunate to have her care for our playful sweet puppy. She is friendly and very knowledgeable with puppies and training. She followed through with our potty training plan and sent tons of pictures with updates! Definitely will be rebooking with her again! Thank you for loving on our sweet guy!

Madison was great! She walked my dog when I couldn’t due to a fracture hip. She even walked him when I was still in the hospital! Thank you so much Madison!!!

She was a great walker and my dog Eddy loves her!

Madison did an excellent job checking in our pups. She took them on a walk and gave them lots of love. It’s very clear that Madison is very comfortable and educated when it comes to dog behavior and our two rescue dogs warmed up to her very quickly. She sent photos and a great update of their time together. We look forward to using her services again in the future.

This is our second summer using Madison and we just love her! She is great with our Labrador and goes above and beyond to give our girl a vacation of her own! Nothing better than seeing pictures that warm your heart because your dog is having the time of her life - thank you!!

Calendar and availability
Schedule
I’m willing to accept weekly visits on a case by case basis, but weekly visits will end around summer time, at which point I’ll be moving. I’m not available for weekly visits Friday through Sunday until after April. My schedule varies by week, so contact me if you have questions!
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
I take safety very seriously both in and out of the house. Before each visit, I like to walk through the area a dog will be using (backyards especially) to ensure there is nothing dangerous for the pet. I typically do not take dogs I work with to dog parks, do off leash walks, greetings with unfamiliar dogs outside of the home, or any other activity that may pose a risk to the animal I’m responsible for. Before walks, I inspect all equipment to ensure there is no damage and it is safe for use. I often prefer using my own leash, which has a backup clip for those pups who like to wiggle out of their gear. All dogs (excluding puppies who are too young) must be up to date on all vaccines for the safety of all animals I work with. In regards to weather, if the weather is too hot at the time of the scheduled visit, I won’t walk the dog on the hot pavement unless it is a very short walk on grass or with boots. Instead, I am happy to do playtime or enrichment indoors, take a longer trip to a pet friendly place, etc. I typically walk in the rain unless it is a torrential downpour or the owners request otherwise. If owners request it, I’m always happy to do walks or playtime with my friendly female Labrador (intact) or friendly male Labrador (neutered). I am also more than willing to take dogs on hikes or walks in parks/trails nearby, if the owner requests it/gives permission. For the car ride there and back, I have a crash tested car kennel that protects animals in the case of an accident.
Pets
A typical day
Walks are typically in the dogs own neighborhood so that they feel comfortable and safe. With owner permission or request, I love bringing dogs to local trails and parks to hike and enjoy all of the nature this beautiful area offers! I also enjoy training dogs to behave in pet friendly public settings when the owners request it. All dogs I take care of will be on a leash at all times unless they’re in a fenced in, secure area. If we are in a large field or other area to play, the dog can be on a long leash (which I provide) to avoid any accidents while still allowing some degree of freedom. I do not take my client dogs to dog parks to interact with unfamiliar dogs during my time with them. This is to prevent any accidents from either side. However I am more than happy to take them to a regular park or field on a long leash to run around, play fetch, train, etc, or take them on a hike. I always spend the first few minutes of my sessions greeting the dog and establishing a relationship through pets, play, love, food, etc. Forming a bond with the animals I work with is one of my biggest priorities! (Aside from safety) I will never force an animal to do something they do not want to do. *a short walk is included with drop in visits upon owner request, if you would like a full walk please select walk, if you would rather a short walk and more play time, training, general care, etc please select drop in. I am happy to help with grooming free of charge- brushing, combing, nail trims, hair trims (no full cuts), etc. just let me know ahead of time! If the pet is not cooperative I won’t force it, if we have multiple sessions we will train with it but I won’t force them to do anything if they are clearly extremely stressed or uncomfortable.*
