About Mackenzie S.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
I am a cat parent to three cats, so I truly understand the importance of the unique care needs that cats have. Additionally, I grew up with dogs my whole life, ranging from Dachshunds to Golden Retrievers, so i both understand and appreciate the different nuisances in care that both dogs and cats need. Safety is extremely important to me and the experience I provide for you, which is why communication is such an important part of this process.
Information Mackenzie S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know as soon as possible how you’d like to proceed with key pickup/drop off, and if you’d like a meet and greet. I also am completely comfortable administering medication in whichever way you prefer (as long as it’s not an injection because I am not trained in that). Also, if your kitty has particular boundaries, such as— no physical contact of any kind, no belly or low back rubs/scratchies, under chin, etc, please let me know prior to the start of the first drop-in. I want your fur babies to feel safe and comfortable around me while you are away :)
A typical day
Right when I get to the drop in, I greet all the kitties (or other small fur babies) and give them some love (if they are approaching me and showing positive signs of affection). Then I will feed them, refresh water, and scoop litter before I’ll return to giving more attention to the kitties in whichever way they prefer!

Cat care experience
Hello, My name is Mackenzie, I am a cat mom to three, and I have five years of professional cat sitting experience. I am known for my communication, as my goal is to make you feel as though you are with your kitties despite being physically away from them. Here are just a few of the things that I do to create a sense of comfort and peace of mind while you are away from your fur babies— 1. Provide a free meet and greet prior to the booking to allow your cat(s) to adjust to my voice and presence. 2. Share anywhere from 10-40 pictures and 1-6 videos every drop-in visit. (this does depend on whether your fur babies are shy. I may elect to reduce photo and video count if your cat(s) are not wanting to be interacted with/are wanting space. I will always prioritize the cat(s) overall wellbeing, rather than getting more pictures and videos.) 3. Text daily arrival updates, with updates if I am caught in traffic or there are other unforeseen delays. 4. Ask clarification questions to ensure highest quality of care for your fur babies. (ie: common hiding spots, favorite treats and toys, specific quirks or things to look out for, unique behavioral changes that should be communicated immediately, etc) 5. Send daily detailed notes in the Rover Cards of what we did during our visit. This includes, but is not limited to, an account of all the cat care items I completed during the booking time, behavioral comments and changes to note of, how much they are eating/drinking, and any recommendations I may have for mood improvement, if necessary. More about my pet sitting experience— Despite my speciality being in cat care, I grew up with dogs and started a neighborhood-wide dog walking business when I was twelve. It was then that I discovered my love for caring for other people’s animals. Even at such a young age, I found it incredibly rewarding providing pet parents with a sense of comfort knowing that their fur babies were receiving a ton of love and attention while they were away. A few years later, a college roommate’s cat changed my life, and I fell in love with the unique nature and communication styles of cats. Now at 26, I have been a cat mom for four years and I am going on my fifth year as a Rover sitter. Something to keep in mind— My prices take into account one (10-minute) meet and greet prior to the booking, driving times to and from the bookings, parking costs/time to find parking (if applicable), gas, inflation, and the quality of care that I provide. The costs of my services are non-negotiable, so please do not reach out asking for a discounted price. Also, short meet and greets are only available once a client books with me, if I am given fair warning (at least a week in advance), and if I am able to accommodate the meet and greet with my bookings. Thank you for your understanding! P.S. Please disregard all the dog prices in my service settings. I’m not accepting dog bookings anymore, thank you!
Reviews

Mackenzie went above and beyond to provide excellent care for my little guy, Percy. She provided him with a lot of love and offered daily updates with tons of photos and videos. Would absolutely hire Mackenzie again.
She was incredible. I booked a bit last minute so we didn’t get to meet before hand so I was a little nervous but again, she was incredible. Took great care of my scaredy cat. Definitely rebooking!

Mackenzie is the best! So communicative, sends great photos and really goes above and beyond to make sure my guy gets taken care of. Highly recommend you book with her!

Thank you so much Mackenzie, you were fantastic as usual!! I’ll come back to you again and again, thank you for being so great with our boys during your drop-ins! And thank you for such fabulous communication, it means a lot!!
