My schedule is currently very flexible, and I’m able to drive around the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area as needed. Maintaining a pet’s schedule and giving them the time they need to the best of my ability is a priority!

Safety, trust & environment
I always respect a pet’s need to get to know me and build trust when we first meet, and want to know what I can do to put them at ease while in my care. During drop-in visits, you can expect me to feed your pets as they expect to be fed, keep their areas tidy, make sure they get affection and exercise, keep the lines of communication open with their humans, and to take plenty of glamour shots, in addition to remaining mindful of when a pet needs additional medical care. In other words, you can expect the same sort of care that my own receive!
Information Mackenzie F. would like to know about your pet
What does their feeding schedule look like? Are there particular treats they like, dietary sensitivities, favorite activities, or other quirks I should know about? Maybe your cat likes to hide in certain spots, and maybe your pup isn't big on playing fetch but likes to go on runs - whatever it is, I'll do my very best to keep them happy!
A typical day
A typical day depends on the pet - but we'll usually start with introductions, letting them sniff around, and then food - the quickest way to a pet's heart! Then we'll probably have some playtime (or time for scratches and snuggles), outside time if that's a part of their routine, and then cleanup.

Loving substitute pet parent!
Pet care experience
While I’ve been taking care of my own cats since I was young (and am now a devoted cat mom to a six year-old tabby), I also grew up with dogs (big and small!) and have been honored to be the one friends and family trust with their pets, too. I love mine more than anything, and I know how important it is to have a caretaker treat them like their own. I’m experienced tending to cats and dogs of all ages, administering meds, keeping boxes clean and tummies full, walking and playing, and giving plenty of love. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re looking for a loving, diligent, and capable caretaker! 🐱🩵🐶

Another great visit. You are so good with my senior cat. Thanks again

Mackenzie is honest and reliable. She is clearly a dog lover and it's comforting to know that when you are leaving your babies that they are in good hands!

Mackenzie made my whole crew feel right at loved while I was out of town. She kept me updated and sent pictures to keep me assured they were all happy. She’s so sweet and all my pets were truly loved and they really liked her.

We cannot say enough good things about Mackenzie. Her communication was seamless, providing us with regular updates that kept our minds at ease. Most importantly, she took phenomenal care of Tanooki, attending to all his needs with so much love and patience. He looked so happy during her visit. It’s rare to find someone this dedicated. We recommend her without reservation
