Information Lillie F. would like to know about your pet

I have cared for puppies, kittens, kids, hatchlings, foals, and fledglings, as well as seniors of all species. No care request is too great, from subcutaneous injections and sublingual medications to hourly bottle feeds, ear drops, and 2x/daily dressing changes, I know keeping our beloved pets healthy and comfortable is paramount. Let me know how YOU best care for your loved ones, and I’ll happily maintain your loving standards. *A heads-up on reactivity is always appreciated. From grumpy to fearful, I can empathize with the range of unpleasant reactions a pet can have towards a new human giving them medications they’d rather not take. Letting me know ahead of time will not change the quality of care given (reactive pets are no less deserving of care!) but lets me know to go slower and work on more cooperative trust beforehand.

A typical day

It is far easier to wear out the mind than the body. For high energy working and sporting breeds, that typically means focused skills work as well as intense sustained exercise. This can be achieved through swimming, cycling, and long distance scent work. For calmer dogs, those mental energy needs can be met through play, cognitive games, and sniffy-walks through the neighborhood. I believe tired dogs are good dogs, and getting dogs good and tired is my favorite part.

Pet care experience

As the daughter of a professional dog trainer, I was still in a stroller the first time I worked with a four legged friend. As a young girl, I entered the dog show ring as soon as I was old enough to compete as a junior handler. When I wasn’t working with dogs specifically, I was an avid volunteer with local wildlife rescues. I’ve worked within animal welfare my entire life, from the fuzzy to the feathered, and I have seen several lifetimes worth of amazing outcomes. I also understand that life with pets can be a challenge. Their needs simply don’t align with modern life. Workdays keep our best friends cooped up, unexpected plans happen at any moment, and even the most perfect pet can lose their cool home alone. Let me help bridge that gap. With love, patience, and a wealth of education and experience in scientifically backed fear-free, force-free, and +R behavioral strategies, I can help ease the stress of pet parenting in the modern world.

Lillie was phenomenal with my dog Kona and I would trust her with my life! She is kind, engaging, loves animals, had a wide range of experience with difficult pets, and is an overall great human. I would recommend her to ANY pet owner who is looking to hire a pet sitter with peace of mind.
