Information Kristin K. would like to know about your pet

Any medications , allergies, dislikes , likes or favorites! Emergency contact , and if you prefer me to send pictures and updates or would rather quiet time. It's also helpful to know if they have any chewing preferences , or if they typically eat things such as socks, blankets etc. so that we can ensure they are kept away during their stay.

A typical day

First thing in the morning we all wake up with a potty break, and then breakfast. Once breakfast settles we are outside for playtime (weather permitting) if it's bad weather we play inside . We play fetch , sometimes we swim, sprinklers or splash pad in the summer. I avoid outdoors during the heat of the day during summer (12-2). Afternoon everyone gets a walk or group play (their preference). I let them out for potty breaks every 1-3 hours. We serve dinner after our walks , and bedtime tuck in with a treat or biscuit . I really try to tailor the day to your pets preference and activity level. I use the WysiWash sanitizing system to santize play areas and crates. This is the top of the line SAFE cleaning system used by some of the top vetrinary clinics.

Pet care experience

I've grown up with animals my entire life. I started in 4H when I was just a child where the values of care and respect for animals are my roots. I have personally owned Great Danes, German Shepherds, Lab's, Spaniels, and a few mix rescues. I recently retired from my Federal career to start my own animal care business full time (Coppermine Kennels). They say if you do a job you love, you will never work a day in your life! I live on a farm with Highland Cattle, Horses (a goat who truly believes he's a horse) and our dogs. They all have their own separate place and fencing. We have 10+ acres to run and roam. My husband shares the love for animals and is a K9 Handler. We both have pet first aid and clearances. I have two daughters ( 14 & 8) who are involved with, and comfortable with all of the animals as well. We are very comfortable with a variety of needs and services such as anxiety, medications, and much more! Our boarding facility is Coppermine Kennels! We have recently added an indoor play area as well as an additional fenced in area!. I offer a variety of situations to meet each dogs need , just because the word kennel is in our name does not mean they will be in a kennel all day long and forgot about . We are outside the majority of the day . We do have a nap/ rest time during the hottest part of the days during the summer which most dogs seem to enjoy. We feed separately and dogs do not have to interact . I take pride in knowing each dogs preferences and what makes them comfortable during their stay with me . I am currently working from home at my leisure as our new dog boarding facility is built. and permitting takes place through the county. I am very flexible! I live on a farm with 10+ acres, a fenced area for the dogs, and 4 dog's of my own. I am comfortable to allow supervised free roam and/or crate care. I believe each dog has it's own personality and what makes it's comfortable and am willing to do whatever it takes to ensure they have a safe and happy stay!

My dogs have stayed with Kristin many many times now, this time for 8 days. They are both always a bit stressed in unfamiliar environments but Kristin makes sure they always eat well and get plenty of playtime. My two dogs love going to Kristins and always come back home exhausted!

My dog was injured in the care of this sitter. He wears a prong collar to be walked and it was clearly left on him and he was tethered up by it causing extreme injuries to his neck area that required emergency vet care. He was also not provided his daily medication that was packed and labeled given daily and well as explained at drop off. Grass was overgrown in the “outdoor” dog run- up to my knee and appearance overall run down and not matching any pictures I listed for this kennel. Unfortunately not at all what is advertised. I should have listened to my gut when I read another negative review on this one. Very delayed responses once your pet is there.
