20 Years Experience!
I have fostered or sat for dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles for 20 years. I began after I lost my first dog to cancer in 2006 and have continued because I love meeting new animals and helping pet parents. I'm known for caring for large dog breeds and dogs that are anxious. I have cared of a variety of breeds, including Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Australian Shepherds, Dobermans, Greyhounds, Great Pyrenees, puppies, and my personal favorite, mutts. I've also taken care of small dogs, and I love the ones with big personalities. When it comes to cats, I've fostered and sat for neonatal kittens, bottle babies, older kittens, and cats. I have experience giving medication and helping animals with special needs. I would love to help you take care of your animals while you are out of your home. I have a greyhound who is not known for being well-behaved but is known for being anxious. At 3.5 years old, he’s never been with a sitter or in a kennel, mainly due to no availability in Gallup. I had Kendra do drop-by visits over a 3-day weekend. After meeting/talking to Kendra, I was completely at ease. She is well-educated and does this service because of her love for animals/knowledge of the need for this in Gallup. I’m sure there are other good pet sitters, but I just don’t need to look for one anymore. I cannot recommend Kendra enough. I appreciate you, Kendra!

Schedule
I currently work from home and teach at a university, so my schedule is flexible. I'm available for days, nights, and weekends right now, so we can work with your schedule and mine to find the perfect times.

Safety, trust & environment
I make sure that the animals I take care of are safe and get belly scratches. I sit with them at first to make sure they trust me, and then we will go on walks, play, or just spend time with each other. Animals are like children for me, so they will be loved and well taken care of.
Pets
A typical day
We will go on walks and play fetch and tug-of-war. I also take dogs on hikes with me when we get to know each other better. We can play any other game your dog loves, and their will be treats, of course!
