Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Keely, a 28-year-old social worker based in Ottawa with a lifelong passion for caring for both people and animals. Growing up surrounded by pets, I’ve developed a deep understanding and love for both cats and dogs, which has shaped who I am today. With over 15 years of experience caring for dogs and extensive knowledge of feline behavior, I bring a wealth of expertise, compassion, and dedication to every pet I care for. I’m the proud owner of a tuxedo cat and a black Labrador, and I know firsthand how important it is to provide pets with the love, attention, and structure they need to thrive. My experience spans everything from training techniques to understanding the unique quirks of both cats and dogs. Whether it’s stimulating a cat’s natural hunting instincts through play, creating cozy spaces where they feel secure, or keeping dogs active and engaged through outdoor adventures, I tailor my care to meet the specific needs of each pet. In addition to my personal experience, I stay up to date with modern training techniques and animal care practices. My gentle nature and empathetic approach have allowed me to connect with animals of all temperaments, making even the most nervous pets feel at ease. I’ve worked with dogs in workplace settings and know how to adapt to various situations, ensuring a calm and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the park, or simply relaxing at home with my pets. Walking, cuddling, and watching movies are some of my favorite ways to unwind, and I love sharing these moments with animals by my side. As a Rover caregiver, I’m committed to providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment for your furry family members. Whether it’s a long walk for an energetic pup, a cozy cuddle session for a shy kitty, or keeping up with specific feeding and care routines, I’ll ensure your pet feels loved and cared for in your absence. Trust is the foundation of what I do, and I take the responsibility of caring for your pet very seriously. I understand how important it is to leave your beloved companions with someone who genuinely cares about their happiness and well-being. With me, your pet will always be treated like family. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends and helping them feel at home, whether it’s for a quick drop-in or an extended stay. Let’s make their time away from you as positive and enjoyable as possible!

Reviews

Keely was so generous with her time doing drop-ins with my cat and tapped into his love of outdoor adventures. She truly cares about and enjoys being with the pets she is looking after.

Keely is without a doubt the best catsitter I’ve ever had. My spicy granny cat who rarely even came out in front of previous sitters was happily sitting with her within a day. She kept us updated with plenty of photos and reports on what the cats were up to, which was a huge relief as we were initially very worried about leaving them alone for so long. Not only that, she went above and beyond in making sure that our house was clean when we came back! If you’re like me and anxious about how your cats will fare while you’re away, I guarantee that Keely’s dedication and kindness will assuage your concerns. Thank you again Keely for taking such good care of our cats, and I really look forward to working with you again!

I feel more relaxed and confident going out of town when I know keely is caring for my cat. Always a pleasure to work with her.

Keely stayed at my home with my cat for 12 days. She was incredible and I would recommend her to anyone. I wasn’t sure how my cat would be as I had never left him for more than a few days. Within a day he was curled up on her and snuggling. She provided daily updates with photos and gave him lots of playtime. She even brought him a cute little playhouse. I honestly think he may miss her! She also took great care of my home, followed all instructions, and left everything in perfect condition. It really allowed me to enjoy my vacation knowing that my cat was being well taken care of.
