We have a large back yard with woods in the back. However, we don't have a fence so we are more comfortable leashing dogs that stay with us. If you have a fenced in yard and are comfortable with your animal running free, then so am I!

I like to know how you generally play with your dog and if there is a schedule you stick with! I want their experience to be the least disruptive possible while you are away. If there are special toys they like or walking routes you take, I'm happy to try and fill your shoes while you're gone.
A typical day
We have woods in our back yard that have hiking trails. It's one of our favorite places to go for exercise and I'm sure it would be your pets too! We also live off a quiet private road that is perfect for shorter walks (.5 mile) throughout the day for a quick break.

Pet care experience
After 10 years of living in Chicago, my husband and I moved back to the Kalamazoo area in 2020 to welcome our baby boy. We brought back with us our dog of 13 years and our cat of 10. They are as big a part of our family as any human. I understand how important your pets are to you and will treat them like I would my own. I love to take energetic dogs outside to burn off some steam and understand that more senior dogs might need a little quieter and slower energy, but still the same cheer.

Katie is a good friend of mine and the proud owner of Remington, a 9.5 year old Peek-a-Poo, and Archer, a domestic short-hair cat. She is very committed to her pets, as they are well-behaved and friendly. I don't have any pets of my own (my building doesn't allow them!), but if I did, I would without a doubt trust Katie to care for them when I was away. She is responsible and compassionate, and I am confident she would treat your pets with love and plenty of attention!
