Reliable cat sitter on High Royds

Cat care experience

Hi, I'm Kathryn, a 40-ish year old university lecturer. I often work from home and my hours are very flexible, which means I have the fantastic opportunity to meet some extra kitties by offering cat sitting. I have a clear DBS check from my employer (available on request). I live on High Royds and cover a 1 mile radius, including Menston and Guiseley. I've had cats for most of my life and I'm currently the proud owner of a grey tuxedo boy called Sooty. All of my cats have been rescues or strays, so I have plenty of experience with timid or nervous cats. I have provided cat sitting through Cat in a Flat (now taken over by Rover) since 2024 and am confident caring for playful kittens, sassy cats, senior felines, long-haired breeds, multi-cat households, cats requiring medication, and both indoor and outdoor cats. I can offer one or two drop-in visits per day and I'm typically available in the morning (7-10am) and late afternoon to early evening (4-8pm). Visits usually last around 30 minutes and can include feeding, litter tray cleaning, grooming, administering medication, and playtime and cuddles - assuming it suits your cat(s) personality. I'm also happy to help with other light tasks such as opening/closing curtains, watering houseplants, taking bins out, etc. I’m very flexible, so if your needs differ from those outlined above, please feel free to get in touch and I’ll do my best to accommodate them. I understand how nerve‑wracking it can be to leave your fur baby behind, so I’m always happy to share daily updates, including photos and videos, to help put your mind at ease. For new clients, I also offer an introductory meet‑and‑greet, giving us a chance to talk through your cat(s) needs and for you to ask any questions. This is free of charge and obviously no obligation to go ahead if you don't think we're a match. A note on fees - and some important changes following Rover’s takeover of Cat in a Flat on 7 April 2026: - One visit per day = £10. Rover deducts 15% of the sitter's fee, so my take home pay is £8.50. - Two visits per day = £15. The discounted rate is no longer applied automatically, but I can adjust this manually at checkout. After Rover’s 15% deduction, I take home £12.75. - I do not charge extra for multiple cats, peak holiday periods, or short‑notice bookings. - Please note that Rover also applies a separate 15% service charge to cat owners, capped at a maximum of £49. My fees are already kept as low as possible, and unfortunately I’m unable to absorb the additional costs applied by Rover. - Payment is now taken at the time of booking, but funds are only released to me after the final visit. - Rover requires bookings to be confirmed by both parties within 72 hours of the original enquiry. While I will always honour any requests agreed via message, these may be moved to an “archived” folder until formally confirmed by the cat owner, so please be sure to check there. Cancellation policy: A full refund is available for cancellations made up to 12 noon on the day before your booking is due to start. If you need to cancel, I’d really appreciate it if you could initiate the cancellation yourself via Rover and let me know at the earliest possible opportunity. If I initiate a cancellation - even when doing so on a client’s behalf - it can negatively affect my profile and review status. Thank you very much for your understanding.

We are so glad that we have Kathryn's help when we go away! She is so attentive with our cat Merlin and we know we can totally rely on her. Kathryn is great at sending lovely photos and videos of Merlin on every visit, showing how much love and affection he receives from her, and how well he is doing while we are away. Merlin is usually very shy but Kathryn has such a special way with him that he absolutely loves her. We highly recommend Kathryn to anyone considering cat sitting!

Kathryn is brilliant with our cat, Romeo. He is nearly 15 and a bit set in his ways. Kathryn is great with him and provides excellent communication and updates.
