I currently teach in the mornings during the school year and have the summers off. I have the normal routine of errands, appointments, family and social commitments interspersed throughout the day and week. If I am caring for a well socialized dog, then they are often accompanying me on most of my activities. If not, then I make adjustments to my schedule to meet and accommodate their requirements and needs.

My preference is for extended stays in your home and currently do not offer boarding. I have been house/pet sitting steadily for several years and have numerous solid references because I love and treat your home and animals as if they were my own. I have experience in the garden and am capable of overseeing home projects as needed. You can be assured that you will come home to a clean and happy household.

I very much appreciate knowing everything you can tell me about your animal's needs, routines, quirks, cues, and behavior issues. I would particularly like to know about any aggressive tendencies and social issues. I am quite willing to accept animals with these issues, but everything works so much better when I know upfront what to expect.

I always like to follow the routine of the household and animals, but I do work in the morning and then have the rest of the day free to be with your animals and hike or whatever is required. I am familiar with all of the hiking trails in Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood, having lived in all of these areas, and will likely be visiting those in your area frequently. My personal favorite places are those with water in the summer, particularly lakes. In the winter, I like to frequent bogs or streams that have iced over...places you can't easily access in the summer. I do like to explore and head off trail.

Over the years, I have lived with and cared for a variety of pets which include rodents, insects, reptiles, fish, birds, chickens, sheep, horses as well as cats and dogs. I am very good at following instructions and will always ask for clarification if unsure about any procedure. I am particularly good with rescues and those who have suffered trauma, have anxiety or special needs. I am very comfortable with giving medications and eldercare. I do enjoy hiking and much prefer to have a dog as a companion.

Kate was a great house and pet sitter! She took great care of our sweet dog and needy cat and we knew they were great hands while we were gone. The house looked great too when we got home. I’d love to have Kate watch them again in the future!
Kate was an absolute blessing of a pet sitter! Our big dogs can be intimidating purely by their size, but she took care of them with confidence and lots of love. Should we ever need a pet sitter again, she’ll be the first person we reach out to. We were very lucky she had time available!
Our geratric pets were calm and happy when we returned from our trip. I'm not sure they even noticed we were gone. Kate gave them their medicine and took good care of them. Everything ran smoothly. I would recommend her to anyone.
I have two little boys, Skipper who is 12 and Finnigan who is 5. I am their world. Finding someone who would care for them in my home, love them and make sure they would be taken care of as I do was paramount. I found Kate on this site and she seemed like the perfect fit. I invited her to my home on two occasions to visit with me and the boys. I booked her for two evenings as I need to travel. Within 10 minutes of her arrival, she sent me a photo of her and the boys licking her face! I was at peace with total confidence I had made the right decision. Thank you Kate!
