Pet care experience

Totally flexible, certified pro!

I have been a responsible pet owner since a young age. Professionally, I have worked as an animal curator and veterinary assistant and am certified by the Red Cross in pet first aid. I have cared for many types of creatures, great and small, and thoroughly enjoy making new fur friends! I love giving belly rubs, scratching backs, and a good game of fetch. I'll treat your pet like what they are, - my newest friend! I am self-employed and am able to offer complete flexibility in my schedule and availability. I work from home and am available for pet care continuously. As such I am easily able to care for animals who require more attention, such as puppies or senior animals. I have a large fenced-in backyard with 400 feet of 6-ft privacy fence. Playtime is supervised and occurs often. Pets are with a human at all times, or are put in a crate temporarily for their own safety - for example, if I have to administer medication to another animal.

Kate and Sharona took very good care of our pets for the four days we were gone. We will use them again.

Kate took wonderful care of our two kitties while we were away for three nights. She was reliable, communicative, and gave us peace of mind knowing our cats were in good hands. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets. Kate clearly loves animals and treated our cats with kindness and attention. We would absolutely trust her to care for them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable pet sitter.

Kate was wonderful and Mr. Peanut settled in quite quickly with her AND her two own dogs. Peanut is very picky at who he likes and doesn't like. But he got along with the pack and as a doggie mom, that made me feel good. I will definitely use Kate again. As far as the Rover website, there looks to be some logistical issues. On my screen, it told me Kate was 82miles away, but a 30min drive. Please get that fixed. Rover for me was hard to use. I like simple. But Rover has all these twists and turns. For example, I was not allowed to just message sitters. I was forced to pick dates. I had been looking for a new babysitter for Mr. Peanut since we just moved, but Rover made me wait til I needed someone asap, which made my experience stressful. Not good. We should be able to meet and talk to these folks before we book. After all, we are parents, and we all should be allowed to interview these sitters much like we would if they were our human children. Thankfully Kate worked out. But it could have gone a lot smoother. Thanks Kate (and daughter!)

My dog was not fed the food I sent with him, he was fed something else. His bowl had remains of dry food and peanut butter (which I did provide). My guess is that the peanut butter was to get him to try it. The food that was sent with him was full, never used. Now makes total sense why it was forgotten when packing his stuff up, she never used it, just threw it in the fridge. My dog could've gotten sick. Other than that everything was ok. Very disappointing. Will not be using her again.

I'd like any special care instructions including your preferred vet, as well as emergency contact information in case I am unable to reach you in the event of an emergency. A behavioral and/or medical history is also very helpful, thank you!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
