We boarded our pup with Jeanna for over two weeks. Grizzly took to her and her family quickly and was very comfortable with them. Jeanna was communicative through our vacation sending pictures and updates regularly. She followed Grizzly’s schedule and he seamlessly adjusted to being home immediately. The best part is that she has her family treated Grizz like he was their own. You cannot get better than that. I would high recommend her to anyone.

TERRIBLE sitter. We booked for dropff at 8-830am. We arrived at about 815am. And guess what, no one would open the door. After knocking for 10 minutes we left. We had to change our travel plans because we couldn't leave our dogs. There was another person who had come to drop off his dog and he had to take his dog back too. Also the yard is quite rundown and there were dogs barking from inside even though we had been told there would be no other dogs. It's also right next to a very busy road which worries me given that she seems like a careless sitter. Never going back to her.

In a mix of confussion with all the read reviews, unavailability of 5-star sitters during busy season, and a lack of time to choose a sitter, I selected Jeanna to board my dogchild Tommy for 10 days. Initially she was very approachable, agreed to my care instructions and offered to provide a daily status on my dog’s well-being. The first two days she provided pictures, video and cute comments on how Tommy was doing. As days passed she started to provide less information and there were days I got no status update. I had to ask her for status updates almost daily and she either was busy or many of her replies included “if something was wrong I would’ve told you”. When I asked for videos she said that the video wouldn’t capture anything different from the photo. Most pictures were of Tommy on his bed; I never got a photo of him doing any activities (eating, playing, walking, etc.). When I picked up Tommy he was overly excited to see me, which at the beginning I found lovingly, but then in the car he seemed anxious, as if trying to process where to next. When we finally got home and I was able to check him thoroughly, Tommy and his belongings were all impregnated with a strong smoking smell. His bed was dirty as well. I gave him a bath and his paws were filthy, he also had a coating of something on his fur, which I imagine is a scent spray to unsuccessfully cover up the smoking smell. He played for 1.5 hours straight, which led me to believe he barely got any exercise or activity. I noticed that one of the pictures showed another dog at the house after Jeanna said that she wouldn’t be caring for any more dogs during Tommy’s stay. One of the only 2 videos I received showed Tommy on a long leash outside, distressed (barking), and with his food bowl full, which is unusual for me as he devours his food in seconds. I suspect that Tommy spent a lot of time outside “chained” given that he came back smelly, dirty and with allergies. I never questioned Jeanna’s care (to her) since I was away and needed to make sure that Tommy would stay safe but I never felt comfortable about his well-being.

Jeanna agreed to sit for us for a few days on short notice. She sent pictures and was very accommodating when we got back a few hours later than planned from a road trip. She even bathed Brady for us before pick up. Will use her again if we ever need a sitter again.

Doggy Day Care • Jul 08, 2022

Jeanna was absolutely wonderful with our dog. We’ve never boarded our shelter dog with a stranger before and were a bit nervous. Jeanna sent regular updates and pictures throughout the day and took excellent care of him. We would rebook with her again in an instant.

Schedule

Pet care is a joyful part of my weekly routine, even without pets in our home. My husband and kids enthusiastically join in, transforming our family time into moments of learning and love for animals. Each week, we schedule visits to help friends and neighbors with their pets, where the kids get involved in feeding, walking, and playing. This not only teaches them responsibility and compassion but also strengthens our family bond as we work together. Our shared passion for animals keeps us engaged and connected, making pet care a fulfilling experience that enriches our lives, even in the absence of our own pets.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home or my client’s home, I prioritize their comfort and well-being. In my home, I have a covered porch and a spacious backyard that provide perfect spaces for exercise and play, allowing pets to enjoy fresh air while staying safe from the elements. I follow each pet’s routine closely, ensuring they stick to their feeding schedules and have plenty of opportunities for social interaction and enrichment. At my client’s home, I respect their established routines and provide familiar comforts to minimize stress. My approach is tailored to each pet’s unique needs, ensuring they feel loved and secure while their owners are away.

A typical day

I believe in making every moment enjoyable for the pets I watch, so I incorporate a variety of fun activities into our time together. We’ll engage in interactive play sessions with toys that stimulate their instincts, such as feather wands or laser pointers for cats and fetch toys for dogs. Outdoor adventures in the backyard or on walks provide opportunities for exploration and exercise, while puzzle toys keep their minds sharp and entertained. Additionally, I love setting up cozy cuddle sessions and quiet bonding time, ensuring that each pet feels loved and appreciated. My goal is to create a joyful and enriching experience that caters to their individual personalities and preferences.

Understanding a pet’s specific needs and preferences ahead of time is essential for providing the best care possible. Gathering information about their dietary requirements, feeding schedules, and any allergies ensures their health and well-being. It’s also important to know their daily routines, favorite activities, and temperament, as this helps create a comfortable environment tailored to each pet’s personality. Being aware of any medical conditions or medications they may require allows for proper management. Additionally, learning about their favorite toys and socialization preferences fosters trust and connection, ensuring they feel loved and secure while their owners are away. This upfront knowledge lays the foundation for a positive pet-sitting experience.
