What sets me apart is my combination of animal care experience, calm personality and genuine love for spending time outdoors with animals. Having grown up surrounded by pets and farm animals, I am confident caring for a wide range of animals and adapting to different personalities and routines. I always take the time to build trust with each animal so they feel safe, relaxed and comfortable in my care. I also have hands-on experience from some work experience in a vet clinic, where I helped care for animals, monitored them, and supported their recovery and wellbeing. This means I am confident recognising when animals may be stressed, unwell or needing extra attention. Alongside this, my farm experience included feeding sheep and lambs, delivering lambs and assisting in a sheep caesarean, which taught me how to stay calm and capable in more serious situations. I am comfortable caring for young, energetic pets as well as older animals who may need a gentler approach, medication or extra patience. As someone who loves the countryside and being active outdoors, I also really enjoy giving dogs stimulating walks and plenty of attention. During the summer, I have flexible availability as a university student, allowing me to dedicate lots of time, care and attention to the pets I look after. I have also had old animals and understand when routinely medications need to be delivered and how to adjust walks according to a pets joint pain. I have grown up surrounded by animals and caring for them has always been a huge part of my life. At home I have a dog, cat, chickens and bunnies, and over the years I have also cared for fish, guinea pigs and local wildlife. Living in the countryside means I spend most of my time outdoors, and I love long walks in nature — especially in places like the Lake District. Being outside with animals is where I feel happiest.
