Hi! My name is Jane, and I’m a fully qualified veterinary nurse with several years of hands on experience caring for animals. Alongside my veterinary qualifications, I have previous experience working as a dog walker and pet sitter through Pawshake, where I provided daily walks, feeding, exercise and companionship for pets while their owners were away. I have worked in veterinary clinics in Ireland, Malta and Turkey, gaining extensive experience handling dogs and cats of different breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. My veterinary background has given me the skills to recognise signs of illness or distress, administer medication, monitor animals’ health and provide additional care for pets with medical needs. I also spent a month volunteering at an animal shelter in Spain, where I cared for rescue dogs and cats. My responsibilities included walking, feeding, cleaning kennels and helping nervous or newly rescued animals settle into their surroundings. This experience taught me the importance of patience, understanding animal behaviour and building trust with animals who may need a little extra reassurance. I hold qualifications in Veterinary Nursing, Animal Care and Animal Grooming, as well as canine and feline first aid. I’m confident caring for puppies, senior pets and animals requiring additional attention or medication. Above all, I genuinely love spending time with animals! I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and individual needs, and I always aim to provide the same level of love, attention and care that they would receive at home. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, cuddles or simply keeping them company, I want every pet to feel safe, happy and comfortable while their owner is away.
