Just so you know, I typically work most days from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., but I’m always happy to accommodate after-hours requests. I can easily handle early morning drop ins, even before 6 a.m., for both cats and dogs. Just let me know what you need, and we can make it work!

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize a safe and trusting environment for all the animals in my care, letting each pet set the pace whether they’re outgoing and social or more anxious and reserved. I understand that it takes time for them to adjust, and based on their comfort level, I carefully adapt. My goal is to build a cohesive, healthy relationship with each of my clients, ensuring they get exactly what they need without stress.
Information Jamal B. would like to know about your pet
Before I take on any pet care job, it’s really important for me to get to know the animal first. This ensures safety for both me and the pet. Some dogs have specific preferences—like being petted only on their head, not their back, or they may not like their feet or ears touched. Some cats have boundaries too they might prefer touch or, sometimes, just solitary time. Also, I need to know if a pet is anxious, if they’re protective of their space, or if they have any history of trying to escape or being aggressive. By understanding these things ahead of time, I can ensure we create a comfortable, safe routine that respects everyone’s boundaries.
A typical day
Every animal I care for is unique, so our fun activities are always tailored to their personality and needs. For dogs with lots of energy, we’ll start with a brisk walk or a run, maybe some fetch or structured playtime with their favorite toy. For calmer dogs, I might let them explore the yard, sniff around, and enjoy a relaxed pace. With cats, it’s all about observing their preferences: some love gentle petting and cuddles, while others prefer quiet time with a window view or interactive toys. My goal is always to read their cues and ensure that every day feels enriching and stress-free for them.

Pet care experience
I bring a diverse range of experience to my work, having served in non-profit shelters, large corporate general practices, and private emergency care settings. I’ve been in the field for about 10 years, with 5 years as a dedicated animal nurse. I’m fully equipped to provide a wide range of care, including injections, topical and oral medications for both dogs and cats. Additionally, I can provide specialized care like asthma treatments and other simple therapeutic procedures. This blend of shelter, corporate, and emergency work allows me to tailor care to each animal’s unique needs with confidence and compassion.

Reviews
Jamal has had a love for pets since he was a young kid. He raised cats and dogs growing up and later started volunteering and working in rescue shelters. He then worked in veterinary clinics as a veterinary receptionist, kennel technician, and then a veterinary technician. He has experience with all types of dog breeds including huskies, pitbulls, yorkies, schnauzers, chihuahuas, mixed breeds, and service and therapy dogs. He does great with nail trimmings, bathings, grooming, kennel cleaning, special nutrition preparation, medication administration, wound cleaning, and ear cleanings. He has trained all three of my dogs and helped with delivering puppies in an emergency as well as assisted with fostering a husky found in the rain during COVID that was placed with a home later with Zeus' rescue.
