I am able to come by and check on the fur babies approximately every 4-5 hours since I am a full-time student, but I do have some gaps in my schedule that permits me to do so. On weekends I am flexible. For walking, I can in the afternoons Tuesday-Sunday. For mornings, after 9:30 Wednesdays and Fridays. I am the most flexible on Saturdays and Sundays. I am also available any evening.

In my home, I would have to check with my roommates upon request depending on how long the pet sitting would be. In other people’s home and in my home would be similar, however, I would prefer other people’s homes. I am very good with playing with them to keep them busy. I would love to give them plenty of cuddles and attention (if they are comfortable with it). I would take them out (if dog) on a regular schedule and clean the litter regularly (if cat). I also would take the dogs on walks as many times as needed/requested. I want the pets to feel like their daily schedule with me would feel the same as the one’s with their owners. I care for other people’s animals like my own.

Let me know if your pet has any special needs. I would like to know if they are on medications and if so what the medication schedule looks like. I like to be informed the most I can. Therefore, that includes their food portions and how many times a day. What their average daily activity needs are is also good to know. Anything extra that you would like to share?

I would love to bring them for long or short walks. I also would like to bring them in a field or open area to play catch or just run around depending on the dog’s preference. I love to bring dogs on drives as well (if they like the car). When the weather will be a bit warmer, I would love to bring them to the beach to run around.

I am a trusted Vet Assistant working at an Emergency Veterinary Hospital. I love all dogs and cats. I also have been pet sitting for family and friends for over 4 years. I have 4 years of clinic experience (2 years as a volunteer and 2 years as a Veterinary Assistant). I am a third-year pre-vet student at UPEI. I have a strong passion for caring for animals and that is why I am pursuing the Veterinary Medicine route. I love my job and being a student in the field. I am looking to help people in need with their fur babies through sitting and walking. I do have a Golden Retriever back home in NB (but not on the island with me unfortunately).
