Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being. Here's how I ensure their needs are met: Initial Consultation: Before the pet owner's departure, I conduct a thorough consultation to understand their pets' routines, dietary requirements, medical needs, and any specific instructions. Maintain Routine: I adhere closely to the pets' established routines, including feeding times, exercise schedules, and medication administration, to minimize disruption and ensure their comfort. Feeding and Hydration: I provide fresh food and water according to the pet owner's instructions, ensuring their dietary preferences and portion sizes are followed. Exercise and Playtime: I engage pets in regular exercise and play sessions to keep them physically and mentally stimulated. This may include walks, interactive toys, or designated play areas. Companionship: I offer companionship and affection to the pets, spending quality time with them to alleviate any feelings of loneliness or anxiety in the absence of their owners. Monitoring Health: I closely monitor pets for any signs of illness or discomfort, promptly notifying the pet owner and seeking veterinary care if necessary. Household Duties: In addition to caring for the pets, I may also perform light household duties such as collecting mail, watering plants, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure a comfortable environment for both pets and owners. Communication: I maintain open communication with the pet owner, providing regular updates and photos to keep them informed of their pets' well-being and activities while they're away. By following these steps, I ensure that pets receive the same love, care, and attention in their own home as they would from their owners, promoting a stress-free experience for both pets and owners alike.

Information Inna B. would like to know about your pet

Absolutely, understanding important details about pets ahead of time is crucial for providing the best care possible. Here are some key things I would like to know about pets before caring for them: Medical History: Any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or medications the pet may be taking. It's important to know if there are any specific health concerns or dietary restrictions. Behavioral Traits: Information about the pet's personality, temperament, and any behavioral quirks or triggers they may have. This helps me anticipate their needs and tailor my approach to ensure their comfort and safety. Routine: Details about the pet's daily routine including feeding times, exercise needs, preferred activities, and any specific habits or rituals they have. Maintaining consistency with their routine helps minimize stress and anxiety. Emergency Contacts: Contact information for the pet's veterinarian as well as any emergency contacts provided by the owner. This ensures I can quickly respond to any medical emergencies or concerns that may arise. Likes and Dislikes: Insight into the pet's likes and dislikes, favorite toys, treats, and activities. Knowing what brings them joy allows me to provide enriching experiences tailored to their preferences. Training and Commands: Any training commands or cues the pet responds to, as well as any ongoing training goals or techniques the owner is implementing. Consistency in training methods helps reinforce positive behaviors. Special Instructions: Any specific instructions or preferences the owner has regarding the care of their pet, such as grooming preferences, favorite walking routes, or comfort routines. By gathering this information ahead of time, I can ensure a smooth and personalized caregiving experience that meets the unique needs of each pet, fostering a positive and trusting relationship between myself, the pet, and the owner.

A typical day

When caring for pets, I believe in providing enriching and enjoyable experiences to keep them happy and stimulated. Here are some fun activities I enjoy doing with the pets I care for: Outdoor Adventures: Taking dogs for stimulating walks in parks or nature trails where they can explore new sights, smells, and textures. Interactive Play: Engaging pets in interactive play sessions with toys such as balls, frisbees, or puzzle toys that challenge their minds and encourage physical activity. Training Sessions: Incorporating training exercises into our routine to reinforce positive behaviors, teach new tricks, and strengthen the bond between pet and caregiver. Treat Time: Using treats as rewards during training sessions or as a special surprise for good behavior, providing mental stimulation and reinforcing positive associations. Socialization: Organizing playdates with other friendly pets or visiting pet-friendly spaces where pets can interact with new friends and enjoy supervised socialization. Brain Games: Setting up enrichment activities such as hiding treats around the house for pets to find, or using interactive feeder toys that require problem-solving skills to access food. Relaxation Time: Offering pets the opportunity to unwind and relax with calming activities such as gentle petting, massage, or soothing music. Bonding Activities: Spending quality one-on-one time with each pet, whether it's snuggling on the couch, grooming sessions, or simply enjoying quiet companionship. By incorporating these fun and stimulating activities into our daily routine, I ensure that pets remain mentally engaged, physically active, and emotionally fulfilled, leading to happier and healthier lives.

Inna came along in the morning and stayed through to late evening to look after my dog and senior cat. She ensured both pets were fed according to schedule and She took the dog out for several walks, and provided photos and updates during the day. Everything was done as per the requirements I had set out in Rover and during the initial meeting we had. Both pets were relaxed and stress free when I returned which was a great relief!
