Hi, I'm Helene 👋 I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse with 6 years of hands on experience. I currently work nights at an emergency referral hospital in York, and before that spent 2 years at a first opinion practice in London. At home I have two rescue cats and a dog, all of whom I adore. One of my cats is geriatric and needs daily subcutaneous fluids and medication, so I'm very comfortable with ongoing treatments, injections, and medication schedules. My dog is also getting on in years and attends hydrotherapy sessions, so I understand the extra care, patience, and gentle handling that older pets often need. I still make time for long walks and hikes with her, along with plenty of cuddles on the sofa. I've pet and house sat in both Norway and the UK, and cat sat regularly through my work, so I'm used to settling quickly into different homes and routines. Whether your pet needs medication given properly, an eye kept on a health condition, mobility support, or just a calm and familiar face while you're away, I will treat them exactly like my own. I have a car, so I'm happy to travel to you. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Safety, trust & environment
While I'm unable to host animals at my current residence, I'm available for dog walking, playtime in parks, or coming to your home to care for your pet. I will follow all your animals routine and care that they are used to. I know it can be stressful for an animal to have a stranger in their home, so I therefore fully believe following routines and your normal day is essential for good care. As a qualified RVN, I'm trained in CPR, emergency procedures, and animal behaviour, so your pet will be in safe, experienced hands.

Kjempefornøyd med Helene,? hun var med på tur og ble kjent før hun passer hundene i mitt hjem. Hun er flink med mine 3 store hunder og tydelig vant med hund, leste de godt. Jeg fikk oppdatering og bilder daglig. Hundene virket fornøyde og rolige når jeg kom hjem. Jeg kunne se at de hadde hatt det bra ??

Schedule
I work night shifts on a rotating schedule, which means I get several consecutive days off at a time. When I'm off, your pet gets my full attention, with no other job or commitments competing for my time. I'm available all day, every day during those periods, so there's plenty of flexibility for walks, visits, feeding, medication, or just company, whatever your pet needs. Because of my schedule, it's worth reaching out with your dates in advance so we can plan around my rotation, but once I'm booked in, you can expect consistency and full attention for the whole time I'm looking after your pet.
