I do not seek to sit for longer than a week each month, so I'm often available for last minute work. I'm very happy to consider one-off jobs and I can be flexible. Weekend bookings are very welcome. I consider the sitting fee to include one half hour walk each day - if your pup needs more than this please let me know so we can discuss your needs. I may ask that extra walks are booked through the app.

A typical day
I give a lot of strokes and affection! I will take them for walks in local fields and parks and play in the garden. When I'm home I'll interact with them regularly. Because I work from my laptop, I spend a lot of time with your pet.

*Currently providing short sits in the Harrogate and York area, although I can walk or visit if you are very close to Starbeck. I love all animals, and especially dogs. I love to see them happy and enjoy themselves on a walk, and I give them lots of attention and affection. At the moment I have a number of regular happy customers. For new clients I usually ask the following: *Does your dog pull on a lead? I have a shoulder injury atm so anything more than mild pulling is difficult. *Do you live far away? For 4 day+ sits I can consider travelling further afield than Harrogate or York, but usually I stay close within my local area. I only take on walking or visiting if very near to my home. *Can your pet be left for short periods? I work from my laptop so I stay with your pet for much of the day when sitting - but I'll assume your pet can be left for up to four hours unless told otherwise. *What walk schedule is your pup used to? Is there somewhere they can run happily if a walk cannot be safely provided? Please note that Rover tells us never to let a dog off a lead. For fit, healthy dogs who are used to a good run every day, being on the lead always can be a challenge!

She was kind to Manoel and I had no concerns about how he was treated. My concern was with the communication and professionalism during the booking. Manoel has separation anxiety, which is why I specifically booked in-home daycare so he could stay in his familiar environment. During her very first time meeting him, she wanted to take him away from the house for several hours. I would not necessarily have an issue with outings in the future once a sitter and dog know each other well, but I was not comfortable with that happening on their very first meeting. When I explained this, she became unhappy and expressed dissatisfaction with the payment. I found this confusing, as the rate was set on her profile and agreed before the booking began. While Manoel was looked after well, the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and stressed while I was at work. I was hoping for reassurance and peace of mind, especially during a first booking.
This is the first time I have used Heather for dog sitting and I couldn’t be more impressed. She replies quickly to any messages and came out to meet Daisy before agreeing to the dog sitting. We remained in contact and whilst I was away I received updates on how Daisy settled. An all round excellent experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Heather 🐾🐶❤️
