Safety, trust & environment

Creating a safe, trustworthy, and comfortable environment for pets is incredibly important to me. I have two dogs of my own—Maple, who I’ve raised since she was a puppy, and Hashbrown, a sweet rescue I brought home from the Bahamas while on vacation in 2024. They’re the best of friends and love playing. Hash is never aggressive—just enthusiastic—and I always keep a close eye to make sure play is fun and respectful for everyone. While I don’t have a fenced backyard, I live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of green space and two nearby dog parks, perfect for fetch, long walks, and safe playtime for any pet staying with us. My goal is always to make visiting pets feel right at home—happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Hashbrown does sleep in a crate, and if it’s desired, my dogs can be kept separate from any that are having sleepovers in my care.

Information Haley H. would like to know about your pet

Ahead of time, I would love to know anything you would like to share about your pets. Do they take medication, enjoy the outside, enjoy playing with other dogs, or are they more reserved and nervous? Do they enjoy sleeping in the bed with you or in a different place? Can they be left out if I need to leave the home, or do they prefer a safe space, such as a crate? Anything that you think to share about them, I am happy to hear and learn more, especially if it helps me care for them in a meaningful way.

A typical day

Depending on your fur baby’s personality and interests, I like to start the morning by getting some energy out. That could mean a walk around the neighborhood, a trip to a nearby park, or indoor play like tug, fetch, or a snuffle mat session. I love letting dogs take in all the “social media” (aka smells) along the way—it’s their version of catching up on the news! After some morning activity, we settle in for breakfast (if applicable) and a little downtime. Whether your pet prefers lounging nearby while I work, soaking up sun by a window, or staying close for cuddles, I make sure they feel comfortable and at ease. Midday usually includes a potty break, a short walk, or some enrichment time depending on their needs and energy level. I like to keep them engaged with toys, light training reinforcement (if desired), or just good old-fashioned attention. In the afternoon and evening, we’ll have another round of activity—this could be a longer walk, more playtime, or even a little adventure if your pet enjoys it. Dinner is served on your preferred schedule, followed by wind-down time. At night, your pet will have a calm, cozy environment to relax in. Whether they’re used to sleeping in a crate, a dog bed, or curled up nearby, I stick as closely as possible to their normal routine so they feel safe and at home. Throughout the day, I provide plenty of updates, photos, and check-ins so you can feel confident your pet is happy, loved, and well cared for.

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets my whole life, and since I was 15, I’ve been the sole caregiver for at least one animal at all times. My experience ranges from caring for playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra help—including those in diapers, those requiring daily medications, and even dogs with paralysis. I understand that every pet has their own unique needs and personality, and I treat them all like family. Whether it’s giving belly rubs, sticking to a medication schedule, or making sure they feel safe and loved while you’re away, I’m committed to providing compassionate, attentive care.

I can’t recommend Haley enough. She stepped in on extremely short notice, taking over my cats’ care late the evening before their visits were set to begin, and was incredibly kind, professional, and accommodating from the start. My cats were very stressed after a difficult experience with another sitter, and during her first visit she spent extra time with them to help them feel safe and comfortable. Her calm, patient, and gentle approach made such a noticeable difference in their stress levels, and I truly believe her care helped them settle. She was also excellent with communication. She kept me informed about any visit time adjustments, sent wonderful photos, and was very understanding of any of my check-ins, especially during that first visit when I was understandably anxious. She was consistently sweet, reassuring, and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. It’s such a relief finding someone who genuinely cares. I’m incredibly grateful she was willing to step in when we needed help, and I would absolutely trust her with my cats again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, reliable, and attentive sitter.
