Evan stayed in our home for over two weeks with our four animals (two cats, two dogs), and we couldn’t be more grateful! He sent us lots of updates with cute photos and videos, and our animals clearly loved him. He even extended his stay when our plans changed, and our home was clean and organized when we returned. We will absolutely be reaching out to Evan again in the future. Thank you for everything!

This was the first time my guy was left without either of his parents. Evan was accommodating, communicative and kind. It gave me peace of mind leaving Murphy with someone else while I was away. Evan provided periodic updates and photos. Would definitely book him again!

Evan is an absolute cat whisperer. We left town for two weeks, and normally on our vacations one of our two cats is so upset that he won’t even come out of the basement. He doesn’t generally take to new people, either. By the end of the trip, both of our cats were cuddling Evan like old friends. Booking him for our vacation gave me so much peace of mind. Thank you so much, Evan!!!

I was very disappointed with the care Evan provided. His responsibilities were simple: refill the feeder, scoop litter, and spend time with the cats. However, within the 30 minute visit, I noticed on the camera that my gray cat’s microchip feeder had been left open, which allowed my orange cat to eat from it. Each cat has a designated feeder, and this was clearly explained during the meet and greet. I messaged Evan to remind him to close the feeder, but he had already left my apartment after staying for less than 15 minutes. He did not take any pictures or complete the visit summary before leaving. When I asked him to return and close the feeder, he agreed, but he never came back. After a reminder, Evan submitted a blank visit summary with a single black picture an hour and a half later. Even if my cats did not want to see him, I expect at minimum a photo of proof that my cats had food and water and that their litter was scooped. I understand that cats can sometimes be shy, but Evan did not stay long enough to give them a chance to come out from under the bed. I am paying for a 30 minute visit, and I expect the sitter to stay for at least 20 minutes, ideally the full 30, to properly care for the cats and give them an appropriate opportunity to come out, interact, and be checked on. My orange cat has consistently come out for sitters in the past, and I expected the same here. Had he waited even a few extra minutes, she likely would have approached him. Due to these concerns, I escalated the issue to Rover support. Ultimately, I chose to cancel future bookings and hire a new sitter because I no longer felt comfortable trusting Evan with my cats’ care during my extended vacation.

Evan charmed my standoffish cat. Thank you for taking good care of her!

I like to know first if there are any aggressive tendencies the dog may have such as resource guarding or sensitive scratching locations. I have no fears of more aggressive behavior, but of course will just want to make sure I'm not causing the dog or their owner any unnecessary stress. Secondly, I like to know if the dog(s) are comfortable with socializing with unfamiliar dogs in the area, in case I thought of taking them to a dog park. Lastly, but most importantly, any medical needs that need my attention are crucial.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
