Experienced with dogs. Loving and attentive.

Pet care experience

Hey there! I’m Emma and I’m a 36Yr old Chiropractic student, looking to earn a little pocket money on the side of studying. Before becoming a student, I worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer so no worries about your furry friend getting enough exercise! I love being outdoors, come rain or shine and my interests are nature, animals, meditation, yoga, travel, fitness and well being. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and quite frankly I miss having them around. Starting with Dobermans when I was born (they were my besties) right through to a small Collie cross, Rottweilers and lastly a 90kg English Mastiff. I have experience in dogs with mobility trouble with damaged knees and hips (big dog problems) to little dogs that need a little hand sometimes. Puppies that pee, poop and chew. Female dogs on heat. Dogs with signs of infection or illness and how to act straight away. I will always take them out as much as I can, sometimes for wooded walks, beach walks, maybe a meet up with friends and their dogs for a play! The house in Bournemouth is a three story townhouse so there are a lot of stairs, so I may not be able to accommodate dogs with mobility issues. If your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs no worries, I will do my best to keep them close and away from other dogs. I feel I have great communication with dogs. I know how to be assertive and calm, friendly and loving. I love to play and I love a cuddle. I’m well versed in boisterous large dogs as well. Your pet will be welcome on our furniture for a nap as long as they aren’t too dirty of course. If I take your dog to a river or muddy walk, I will make sure they have a bath before coming home to you :) (slight extra charge - see details) If you have any other questions please feel free to ask! I really hope you’ll pick me to care for your fur baby. I think we’d have a lot of fun!

Emma was really good with Chilli, who's only 9 months old and be very stubborn. He looked happy and relaxed when we got home, and besides a bit miscommunication- Emma was active on providing updating and asking questions where needed. I would definitely book her again 😊

Emma looked our 1yr old Bulldog Geoffrey for 3 nights and she was absolutely brilliant! She gave us regular updates on how he was doing and what he was up to. We felt total confidence that he was being looked after the same as if we were home. We came home to a clean house and a very happy dog!! We would not hesitate in recommending Emma to look after your dog and house! She was absolutely brilliant!!

Emma was simply amazing. Organising the booking was easy and straightforward. She checked in and asked some questions to make sure she understood Fred's needs and personality. Her communication was exceptional. She looked after Fred so well taking him on a lovely long walk and spending the day with him, caring for him in the best way possible. I would 100% recommend Emma, she was reassuring, trustworthy and really cared about Fred.

Safety, trust & environment

To be transparent, I am studying in Bournemouth full time, however sometimes I like to go back to my flat in Southampton on weekends. If your dog loves adventure and is happy to travel in a car or train, I will ask your permission to take them along! If they don’t travel well I can stay in Bournemouth with them. 🙂 luckily enough, we have a shore walk and forests right by me in Southampton so whether it’s either place, they’ll be walked, loved and cared for.

Information Emma W. would like to know about your pet

Please obviously supply food, bowls and dog bed/crate if they have one. if they need any medication and tricks to help them take them (mine liked it in a lump of cheese) and mobility issues, specialist breed traits, previous history if your dog was rescued, your dogs pet peeves and what makes them feel safe. Sometimes the tiniest info about your dog can help me make them feel right at home with me.

A typical day

Beach walks, hikes, forest walks, sniffer work if that’s good for your breed, tricks and treats, doggy dates, cuddles, dog cafes, playing/relaxing with my hooman friends and family!

Availability

I have few lectures during the week. None lasting longer than 90 mins. If your dog is happy with being alone for that long I can dog sit/board on those days. I’ll just leave them with water, music and somewhere to snuggle down for a bit. 🙂 other than that I can study from home and I like to take walk breaks regularly every 90mins to 2 hours so I can take them for toilet breaks or a longer walk. I will always take your dog for a walk during their stay with me!
