I’m starting my PhD program in the fall and am looking to make some extra cash before the semester begins in August. I have nothing but time until then and I would love to fill it up with puppy love!

Safety, trust & environment
It’s totally normal for your pet to get the puppy blues without you there. Some things I do that has often helped ease this anxiety is being available for around the clock care, doing some soothing activities like mat licking, and lots of belly scratches!
Information Emily R. would like to know about your pet
I strongly prefer to meet with pets ahead of time with the parent so I can be properly introduced before being with them one on one. I also like to know their morning and nightly routines, possible triggers (thunder, smells, spots not to touch, etc), and typical behavior on walks when approaching other dogs/people. Behavioral or mental health issues are not a dealbreaker but I do request I’m alerted prior.
A typical day
I’ve watched dozens and dozens of dogs and one thing I’ve learned is that no dog likes to play the same. I come prepared with a wide variety of activities up my sleeve so I can engage the most laziest of dogs in a mixture of mental and physical enrichment. For example, I like to do sniff puzzles and sniff walks for decompression. We also will try some brain stimulation and problem-solving with puzzle toys or frozen treats. And lastly lots of structured play to get those zoomies out while keeping things safe and controlled.

Pet care experience
I’m a certified volunteer handler for service dogs in training at 4 Paws for Ability. Sitters and handlers are trained to train, care for, and accumulate soon to be service dog puppies. I also have have experience as an overnight pet sitter for dogs of all sizes and backgrounds. I am comfortable with any breed and do well with pets suffering from anxiety.
Reviews
Emily was an incredible dog sitter. She was responsible, communicative, and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was well cared for. She kept me updated, followed all instructions, and treated my dog like her own. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals. I would trust her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring pet sitter.
