I am a full time student at Virginia Tech and am on campus for about 3-4 hours each day. My schedule is spaced out between classes which allows me to come home multiple times each day. During my breaks I would have enough time to take dogs on walks and play with them. I leave for class around 8:30 am some days and am always home around 6 pm for feeding times.

In my own home I am pretty neat and organized. I never leave food or sanitizers out in the open. I am pretty quiet and have enough time to give plenty of attention to your pets. While at client’s home I do not interact with anything in the house that is not used for the dog or cat (unless I have to clean up a mess). I prefer clients to leave paper notes with directions. I will leave you daily time checks of when I leave and arrive. I will also leave notes on the pet’s eating habits and behavior.

Information Elizabeth D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if there is anything your pet does that is normal that may not be normal to me. Such as wheezing, backwards sneezing or excessive drooling just so I know your pet is healthy and ok.

A typical day

With the pets I watch I like to give them new sensory experiences. For a dog I would take them on a quiet trail and let them have a lot of time to sniff around. I would even take them a bit off trail so we can explore. For cats I would bring them some things from outside to sniff and experience. I would also look up activities off of Pinterest for other enrichments.

Looking to love and care for pets!

Pet care experience

I have had pets all of my life and absolutely love animals. I used to volunteer at a shelter and learned a lot about proper sanitation, animal enrichment, behavior and health. My family has also fostered many dog and cat litters. I currently have three dogs and two cats at home that I miss very much! But right now I live at a spacious apartment with no pets. My apartment is pet friendly and there is a dog park near me :)

Elizabeth did a wonderful job! We would love to work with her again. Her communication was great. She kept us updated and shared photos of our cats, Stasya and Miso, daily. We came home to two happy and healthy kitties after a week of being away.

Elizabeth has been helping me with caring for our own 5 pets her whole life and with fostering since 2015. We own 3 dogs and 2 cats that Elizabeth is responsible for feeding, walking and socializing. We also foster for our local animal shelter and Elizabeth is a big part of caring and socializing the animals that we live with us. This is especially important for the young puppies and kittens that stay with us. Elizabeth has also been volunteering at Loudoun County Animal Services for the past 3 years and is trained on how to deal to with anxious and stressed animals and how to handle them. She absolutely loves animals and caring for them.
