Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m already used to caring for my own two cats every day, so feeding, cleaning, checking in, giving attention, and making sure pets feel comfortable is part of my normal life. Because my schedule is flexible, I’m able to build my day around pet visits, walks, drop-ins, house sitting, or boarding needs. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, whether that means early morning feedings, mid-day walks, evening check-ins, playtime, medication reminders, or just spending calm time with them so they don’t feel alone. I know pets do best when their routine stays consistent, so I take that seriously. My goal is to make your pet’s day feel as normal, safe, and comfortable as possible while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment
Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my priority is to keep their routine as normal, safe, and comfortable as possible. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, crate routines, medication instructions, litter box care, and any house rules. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of the space and focus on making the pet feel secure in their normal environment. I make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of attention, exercise or playtime if they want it, and a clean, comfortable space. I also send updates and photos so owners know how their pet is doing while they’re away. In my home, I provide a calm, clean, pet-friendly environment. I make sure pets have space to relax, regular potty breaks or litter box access, fresh water, and plenty of attention. I’m also mindful that every pet has a different personality — some want lots of play and affection, while others need patience, space, and a slower approach. My goal is always to make each pet feel safe, cared for, and loved while giving their owner peace of mind.
Information Elijah S. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I like to know anything that helps me keep them safe, comfortable, and on their normal routine. The most important things are their feeding schedule, potty routine, energy level, favorite activities, any medications, allergies, health concerns, and whether they have any anxiety, fears, or triggers. For dogs, I’d also like to know how they do on walks, around other dogs, around new people, in a crate, and whether they have any habits like pulling, chewing, jumping, barking, or trying to escape. For cats, I’d like to know their litter box routine, hiding spots, favorite toys, whether they like attention or prefer space, and if they have any areas of the home they should avoid. I also appreciate knowing your house rules and preferences — where your pet is allowed, where supplies are kept, emergency contact information, and your preferred vet if needed. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make your pet feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
I like to match activities to each pet’s personality, energy level, and what their owner is comfortable with. For active dogs, I’m happy to do walks, play fetch, practice basic commands, give them structured exercise, or spend time outside so they can burn off energy. For more relaxed dogs, I’ll keep things calm with slower walks, belly rubs, companionship, and plenty of attention. For cats, I know every cat is different. Some love wand toys, laser pointers, climbing, chasing toys, or getting brushed, while others prefer quiet companionship and a calm presence. I’ll follow their lead and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I also enjoy sending photo updates, so owners can see their pets playing, relaxing, walking, or just being their normal selves. My goal is to make the experience fun, safe, and stress-free for each pet while keeping their routine as consistent as possible.

5 ⭐️ Sitter for Active/Anxious Dogs
Pet care experience
I’ve been around animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm in Indiana with dogs, cats, and other animals, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. I started training our family dogs when I was young, teaching puppies basic commands like sit, lay down, roll over, and come. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets in Colorado, Hawai’i, and Arizona, and I’m proud to have earned multiple 5-star reviews from families who trusted me with their dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities, from small Chihuahuas to large German Shepherds, and I’m comfortable caring for active dogs, big dogs, puppies, senior pets, and pets who may need a little extra patience. My goal is simple: make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving you peace of mind. I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own, follow your instructions closely, and keep you updated with clear communication, photos, and anything important I notice during the visit or stay. I currently have two cats, Palmer and Porter, who are spoiled, adventurous little guys. We even take them on hikes in cat backpacks, so I completely understand how important pets are as family members. Whether your pet needs exercise, structure, playtime, companionship, or just someone calm and reliable while you’re away, I’ll make sure they receive high-quality care and plenty of attention.

Reviews

Eli and Alicia took such good care of my fur-baby. Sent tons of pics and videos and she was not upset at all when we came home so I know she was very happy while we were gone. Thank you both.

Elijah is responsible and communicates thoroughly. We love all the pictures and updates he sends, which put us at peace while away! Will book with him again in the future.

Elijah did a great job taking care of my two cats while I was out of town! I loved getting to see pictures of them from his visits, and appreciated the peace of mind I had knowing they were in good hands.

Elijah was attentive, thorough, and loving to our two large dogs. He handled their feeding, walking, and couch surfing schedules with ease. We look forward to using his services again!
