Safety, trust & environment
I always stay at the client’s home so the pet or pets may remain in an environment where they are comfortable and feel safe. If the pet is nervous, I let them take their time and have them come to me rather than constantly approaching them; it’s how I set up a proper rapport with the pets. Otherwise, it depends on what the pets need and what the client also needs so they may take comfort that their fur baby is in good hands.
Information Danielle G. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences, but it’s always good to know about health issues or allergies. I also would like to know with anxious dogs, what scares them and how I can make sure they are safe (thunderstorms, fireworks, other dogs.)
A typical day
I love hiking so any nearby trails surrounded by woods is such a joy. It’s relaxing and exercise is involved. I also enjoy the occasional snuggles, who wouldn’t?

Pet care experience
Whether it is in their loving nature or playful spirit, dogs have left permanent paw prints on my heart. As the current owner of a rescue, dogs are family in my book. Every dog deserves a loving, fun, and happy environment. I have volunteered at the Durham Animal Shelter and worked as a customer service coordinator at an animal hospital. With the experience and tools I have learned, I hope to use them toward starting my own animal care business. My expertise includes dog sitting (as well as cats), dog walking, and visits. I come during the day and use the associated time to walk, play, or remind how amazing and cute the dog is. By the time the owner is home, everyone is happy!

Thanks so much for taking care of the zoo!

Danielle was absolutely wonderful! I booked with her last minute and she was super flexible with scheduling a meet and greet with my pups before hand. I have one dog that gets scared and anxious around new people but she was not thrown off one bit and took her time to let my dog warm up to her. She was super communicative while I was gone (even sent daily pictures)! I will definitely be booking with her again!
Danielle very communicative and loving to our pups. She was also very respectful to our home.

Danielle took great care of our home and our beloved beast, Thor. She was very attentive asking great questions leading up to and while house sitting our dog.
