Pet care experience

Reliable Pet Care & Training

I’ve been working in pet care for about five years now, with the last several years full-time here in the San Fernando Valley. I have experience with a wide range of animals, but I primarily focus on dogs, especially when it comes to behavior, structure, and training. I spent about four years working at a local dog rescue, where I gained hands-on experience with anxious, reactive, and senior dogs, as well as dogs with medical needs. I’m comfortable administering medications, including oral meds and injections like insulin, and I’m very attentive when it comes to health and behavior changes. In addition to general care, I’ve worked alongside trainers and developed a more structured approach to handling dogs. I really enjoy helping dogs build better habits, whether that’s basic obedience, leash manners, or just creating a calmer, more balanced routine. I especially enjoy working with puppies and dogs that need a little extra guidance. I offer a variety of services including walks, drop-ins, day care, overnight stays, and boarding. I do this full-time, so I’m very flexible and can usually accommodate different schedules and needs. At home, I have two dogs and two cats who are all friendly and have helped me foster and care for other animals over the years. Because I live in a smaller space, I typically only take one client’s pet at a time to make sure they’re comfortable and get my full attention. Overall, I’m patient, calm, and very in tune with the dogs I work with. I genuinely enjoy building trust with both pets and their owners, and I take a lot of pride in providing reliable, thoughtful care.

I worked with Cody as a dog walker. He handled my very large dog, who can be a bit reactive, with patience, confidence, and real skill. It’s clear he understands dogs and takes safety seriously. I feel much more at ease knowing my dog is in such capable hands. Highly recommend and will continue to use Cody in the future!

Cody is an absolutely wonderful dog walker. He’s easily become the highlight of Luna’s days whenever he’s stopped by; she can be a little difficult to handle at times due to her dog reactivity but Cody had no issues. Very communicative, always provided photos and comments after every walk, and I highly highly recommend his services should you ever need help with doggy care!

Cody been assisting with the training of Biscuit daily and he is doing so good! He’s learning to walk on the leash and all the basics. Cody has become part of the crew and we love having him so much! He is so calm and patient with Biscuit and has just the right amount of firmness. I wish I could give him 10 stars!

Schedule

Pet care is my full-time job, so my schedule is built entirely around the animals I’m working with. I’m out every day doing walks, drop-ins, and sittings throughout the San Fernando Valley. Because of that, I’m very flexible with timing and can often accommodate different schedules or last-minute needs. If you reach out, there’s a good chance I’m already in the area and can make something work.

Safety, trust & environment

live in a pet-friendly apartment and keep a structured, calm environment for the animals in my care. My routine includes a balance of exercise, play, rest, and downtime so dogs don’t get overstimulated. Pets go out multiple times a day for potty breaks and walks. I also incorporate mental stimulation and light training into the day when appropriate. I do use crates as part of a safe and structured routine, especially when I’m away or during rest periods, but dogs are never left for long stretches and are given plenty of attention and activity throughout the day. My goal is to create a safe, predictable environment where pets can relax and feel secure.

Pets

A typical day

Each day is tailored to the individual pet, but typically includes walks, playtime, and structured downtime. I like to balance physical exercise with calm time so dogs stay happy without getting overwhelmed. Depending on the dog, activities can include neighborhood walks, park visits, light hikes, or structured exercise like treadmill work. I also reinforce basic training and good habits during walks and daily routines. If a dog is comfortable and it fits their personality, they may join me on outings. Otherwise, I keep things consistent and low-stress based on their needs.
