I am currently taking a sabbatical from being a clinical mental health professional, and am just teaching yoga and facilitating conscious breathwork from home currently. So besides from camping and seeing live music, I will be home and able to take your pup on walks/hikes. When house sitting, I will typically need to bring my Aussie with me, as I’m responsible for him all of the time. He gets along well with all sorts of other dogs and get along well with cats and small animals.

I live alone in an apartment with my 8 year old Aussie right across the street from Green Lake. We love going on long walks several times throughout the day around green lake or on hikes out in the woods.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs and what your dogs favorite things are to do. Having worked with lots of animals, I understand that consistency is the most important thing, so please let me know what words your dog is accustomed to using for any cues, and what you’re currently working on with your dog and if there is anything your dog isn’t allowed to do. When house sitting, I will typically need to bring my Aussie with me, as I’m responsible for him all of the time. I love going on walks and spending time outside with dogs, whether it’s your back yard, Green Lake, or Woodland Park, we’ll be spending a lot of time outside exploring so long as your dog enjoys to do so. I also love paddle boarding and will bring my one paddle boarding loving pup with me and would happily bring yours too if they’re used to paddle boarding. While I’m getting to know your dog, I will probably refrain from taking them to the dog park, but as I get to know them, I am happy to take them to dog parks if that’s a part of their routine.

I love animals, of all kinds! So much so, that I chose to get a masters degree where I partner with therapy animals to help treat human’s mental health and trauma! I’ve been working with animals for pretty much my whole life, and as I’m taking a sabbatical from being a mental health professional, I’m excited to help you in taking care of your furry (or sometimes not so furry) family member. I’ve worked primarily with dogs, cats, horses and reptiles. I currently have one dog in my apartment, where I live alone. I do also offer dog training and have trained pets and working animals (therapy and service dogs and horses). I’ve fostered many puppies over the years and love working with young puppies. I’m happy to ensure that anything that you’re working to train your puppy on is continued while you’re away. Having had animals with special needs myself and working on horse farms throughout my life, I am well versed in seizure protocol and administering medications. I’ve also helped assist with several litters of puppies, kittens and foaling! I’m comfortable with redressing bandages and canine first aid.

OMG! Carmen is awesome! She took expert care of my 2 dogs, my hen and my very difficult pig!!! She didn’t give up and she was open to suggestions and coming up with new strategies. Day 7 of my trip I was hospitalized in Canada for a week and Carmen immediately reassured me that she would continue house/ pet sitting while I recovered. I was so sick but I could relax knowing my pets were in great hands!!! This was my first time using Rover and I feel blessed to have met Carmen and am excited to have her back in the future!!!
Carmen is responsive, kind, and takes great care of our puppy.
Carmen is great with animals, attentive to their cues, and reliable. We would definitely have her again!
