Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Cara!

I've been caring for dogs for over 13 years, beginning with my family's Golden Retriever from the time he was a puppy. Over the past 3+ years, I've also had the opportunity to care for many wonderful dogs through Rover, giving me experience with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, personalities, and care needs. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with mobility challenges, and I'm happy to follow any routines or special instructions to keep them comfortable and happy. My goal is always to treat every dog as if they were my own by providing plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and individualized care. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I strive to make both you and your dog feel safe and at ease. **Please note:** Due to a severe cat allergy, I’m unfortunately unable to provide care for cats. I appreciate your understanding!

Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for every pet in my care. I like to keep a close eye on dogs throughout the day and enjoy spending time in the same room as them—whether I'm reading, working, or simply keeping them company—so they're never left feeling alone and I can quickly notice if anything seems off. When the weather is nice, I love spending time outdoors with dogs and will always supervise them while they're outside. I'm happy to use a leash for walks or outdoor time when needed, and I can also crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine. Every pet has unique needs, so if your dog requires any special accommodations, routines, or care instructions, just let me know. I'm happy to follow your preferences to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

Cara is incredible. She took great care of our 2 girls and our home. We loved the daily pictures. I’m pretty sure she left our house cleaner than when we left! We are so thankful for everything she did and would highly recommend her!

Cara was great as usual! Our pups love having her and it gives us so much peace of mind, knowing we can have someone in our home where they are comfortable and takes such good care of them. We love getting the picture updates too!

Cara is so sweet and reliable. This was our first time using Rover so we were naturally very nervous leaving our 2 girls in the care of someone we really didn’t know. We set up a meet and greet and immediately felt comfortable with her. She stayed at our house for a long weekend and she was very good about sending us updates and pictures. We will absolutely be calling her for our future dog sitting needs. I would 100% recommend her!

We always know Remy is in great hands with Emma when we’re out of town! Lots of walks and pictures are shared when we’re gone!

Schedule

I'm originally from Cincinnati and relocated to Youngstown to pursue my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Youngstown State University. During July and August, I'll be completing a clinical rotation, working Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM and Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, with my weekends completely free. Beginning in the fall, my class schedule consists of only a few hours each day, which allows me to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day. Whether your pet needs companionship, regular potty breaks, walks, or drop-in visits, I'm happy to provide reliable and consistent care. I'll always make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve while you're away.

I love getting to know each pet before caring for them, so I appreciate as much information as possible! I like to learn about their feeding schedule, daily routine, personality, favorite activities, sleeping habits, medications or health conditions, potty schedule, and how many walks or exercise sessions they typically have each day. The more details you can provide, the better—I want to make sure I care for your pet just as you would. For dog walks, it's especially helpful to know how your dog interacts with other dogs, people, and unfamiliar environments. If they have any triggers, anxieties, special commands, or preferences, please let me know so I can ensure every walk is safe, enjoyable, and tailored to their needs.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
