My home and yard are secure my house has a tall wood fence around the entire back and side yard. Inside my home all exits are secured by additional 3' high retractable dog gates that are always closed when I am boarding dogs. When I transport dogs I do so in my van that is outfitted with a large and secure 4 sided dog hammock with dog seat belt attachments. Dogs never ride unsecured in my van. If you need transport some is available at no charge within a certain radius from my home and on days and times I am able to offer it. When they stay with me your dogs are allowed everywhere on the main level of the home and while I have lots of soft dog beds they are also welcome to hang out on the couch! I have a ample supply of toys, treats, seat belts, dog bowls and bedding at my home so below is a list of what you should bring with your dog for a typical stay. What Your Dog Should Bring for Boarding/Sitting: - A secure harness and leash for each pet. - Crate or cage if your dog requires one. -Their food, medications and any supplements they will need while here. Please label your dogs food and meds with their names, if you forget to do so that's fine and I will label them upon their arrival. - A bed or bedding, this is not required but if you feel like your dog would be more comfy with something that smells like you then please do bring their favorite bed, blanket etc. Please don't send the following items: -Favorite toys (I cant vouch for their safety from other dogs).

Information Brett C. would like to know about your pet
I prefer to work with adult and senior dogs but please know that I cannot provide care for dogs that would benefit from being medically kenneled. Meaning they require round the clock constant care for concerns like routine pain management that is often associated with cancer care, hospice or palliative end of life type care. I can give dogs oral medications and topicals but nothing more invasive such as injections. Please let me know ahead of booking about your dogs medications and how they are administered. While one of us is almost always here please note that your dog should be OK with being left unattended for up to two hours to be a good fit for my services. If you typically would crate your dog when you leave them home alone but at no other times I have a few crates I keep for that purpose so just let me know! I can provide care for toy and medium sized dogs that are well socialized to other dogs, children and adults. While I don’t have children in my home on a regular basis for personal liability reasons I cannot watch dogs that are not good with humans of all ages. If your dog does not meet this criteria, has high prey drive or has issues with toileting inside your or other people's homes then I am not the right sitter for you. Any dogs found to mark inside after they arrive will have to wear onesies or belly bands for the entirety of their stay. If they wont keep the garment on they wont be able to continue boarding. Please make sure your dog is clean and free of any pest before coming to board. This is for your pets own comfort and to keep my home clean and pleasant as well. Your dog does not need to be professionally groomed or anything like that but please make sure they are not super smelly or matted. Dogs that have long hair around their backsides should have a hygienic shave to prevent toileting mess as I cannot continually clean feces off your pets backside. Dogs that arrive in poor condition may not be able to stay. All male dogs must be neutered NO EXCEPTIONS and female dogs may be un-spayed but we will need to discuss their heat schedule. We cannot board female dogs actively in heat.
A typical day
A typical day of boarding has a pretty consistent routine. We are up early (around 5 am) for the potty, followed by breakfast routine and our first walk of the day. Mid day there is another walk and open play time in the side yard. Dogs always have access to fresh water both inside and outside the house. In the evenings we have dinner for dogs that require it followed usually by another short walk for the more active dogs. Before bed we all hang out in the living room watching TV and barking at our favorite scenes of course! Sleeping arrangements get worked out and clean bedding when needed is laid out for each pet. Around 8 pm we take one more bathroom break and then we all get some shut eye until 5 am rolls around again!

Pet care experience
Hi there, I'm Brett just your local dog lover living in St. Johns! We are crazy about dogs around here and can't wait to meet you and yours! Please read through each section to make sure that our services sound like a great fit for you. Please note that request received after 8 pm will likely not be responded to until the following morning but we will get back to you! We provide short and longer term boarding for toy to medium sized adult to healthy senior dogs. Our services are best suited to smaller adult dogs who are comfortable with other dogs and enjoy a quiet low stress environment. Our space is small and welcoming oasis for your small adult to senior dogs. It is my primary goal to become your go-to sitter by gaining your trust and providing you and your pets with only the best experience possible! I offer safe, affectionate, and attentive care. So let me tell you a little more about me and why my services are a great choice for you and yours! My expertise focuses on building a strong and healthy relationship between people and animals by using positive reinforcement. I believe in reward-based training techniques that foster trust between animals and humans. I do not use fear or intimidation to "make your dog" do anything. Furthermore, I have cared for many types of animals throughout my life, including dogs, cats, horses, and even reptiles, spiders, and other exotic animals. I'm reliable, responsible, and compassionate. I've always been the go-to among my friends and family when someone needs their pet taken care of. I have worked hard over the past 7 years turning my skills into a small but growing business so that you can feel confident that your pet(s) are well cared for while your away. My partner and I both telework full time so we always have someone here to provide tons of attention to your animals when you are away! I have a small fully fenced and secure yard which offers a perfect amount of space for roaming and play for smaller adult dogs. We take a minimum of two walks per day and I have tons of toys, Kong's and puzzle toys to keep even the busiest dog minds happy! You are welcome to bring crates if your dog is crate trained and I have a quiet room just off the living room for crated pups to overnight. But overall this is small numbers homestyle dog boarding. All dogs sleep in the house just like the people. We don't have kennels or separate areas on the property where animals overnight unattended. Ask about free pick up and drop off within 2 miles of my location this is available to guest booking stays of 3 nights or more. Again thank you for your consideration and we looking forwarding to meeting you soon! -Brett, Angela, Bubs and Baby
Reviews

What an amazing couple! They set up a time for us to get the dogs acquainted and meet first, which I love. I received updates, pictures, and feedback on Henny behaving so well 😊. I will definitely book again and maybe even make it a routine. Their dogs are well trained, and very sweet! They also have a safe space for the dogs to free roam to get outside without fear of running in the road. I can tell they’re pros!

Brett and Angel are exactly the kind of people you hope to find to care for your dogs—mature, responsible, and extremely professional. Our dogs had a wonderful stay, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. We would absolutely book them again for future travels.

Nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say. They were willing to care for one of my babies that has some intense anxiety and were so good with her that she even accepted treats! Instructions and requests were followed perfectly. The amount of communication was just right: a little update here and there and some pictures to show everything was alright. So much patience when one of my dogs had some tummy issues. Would more than happily book with them again!

The pup did very well with them and we will definitely book them for our next trip as well. Great communication and I could tell that she enjoyed her daily outings. They were also very helpful when pickup times had to be adjusted.
